Pink Tutu Blog: London Calling! 🩰✨ (Post #1085)

Hello my darlings! It’s Friday, which means it’s time for another Pink Tutu Blog adventure! 🎉 This week, I’m taking you all on a whirlwind tour of London town, a city that practically pulsates with its own vibrant energy. ⚡️ And what better way to experience this metropolis than in a pink tutu, of course!

My train journey down from Derbyshire was, as always, a delightful escape. I settled into my carriage, my ballet bag, stuffed with my dance essentials, tucked snugly by my side. As the countryside whizzed by, I found myself sketching in my notebook, ideas for new tutu designs swirling in my head. And wouldn’t you know it, I had the most splendid muse - a group of young ladies on the platform, sporting the most wonderful blend of colours and patterns! 💖

I’m a big believer that colour can lift anyone’s spirits. A splash of magenta, a dash of cerise, a touch of bubblegum pink - these shades always brighten my day and, as it turns out, brighten everyone's day. And speaking of brightening days, the arrival in London's King's Cross station is always a joy. The grandeur, the bustling energy, the promise of endless exploration... I felt like a character stepping into a Jane Austen novel, except, of course, I was clad in a shimmering hot pink tutu! 😉

First things first, coffee! I found the most adorable cafe tucked away in a charming side street near Covent Garden. Their latte art was to die for (I even snagged a selfie with my latte and my tutu - perfect Instagram fodder, darling! 📸). Fuelled up and ready to take on the city, I decided to wander towards the West End.

London's Theatreland never fails to enchant me! I could almost feel the magic radiating from the countless theatres. My heart practically leapt out of my chest when I saw a poster for the new musical “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” - it just had to be seen! 🎉 A few minutes of strategic tutu twirling outside the theatre got me the perfect photo with the dazzling red windmill backdrop - so dramatic! ✨

The next stop was the world of fashion, naturally! Shopping in London is a true delight. From the chic boutiques of Knightsbridge to the independent gems hidden in the cobbled backstreets, there’s something for everyone. I, of course, headed straight for the pink section! 💖 You see, my philosophy is this: when it comes to style, life is just too short for anything but bold, expressive colour. So, you'll never find me blending into the background! My tutus might just be the most captivating element of any outfit, but a pop of colour in my lipstick or a fabulously printed handbag never hurt anyone either. 😉

Later in the day, my tutu-wearing journey brought me to the Southbank Centre. What better way to soak in the cityscape than from the eye of the London Eye? 🤩 I felt like I was floating amongst the clouds, overlooking the river Thames, Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament... the most spectacular views! And of course, the pink tutu just had to make an appearance in some breathtaking selfies! 📷

Before sunset, I indulged in a delightful afternoon tea at The Ritz, complete with finger sandwiches, miniature cakes, and a generous pot of Earl Grey tea. I felt like a Victorian princess, except... well... in a pink tutu! 👸💖 And what a beautiful way to conclude a whirlwind day!

Speaking of twirling... My schedule is packed with ballet performances this week! I’m especially looking forward to seeing the Royal Ballet perform “Giselle” - a masterpiece of romance and tragedy, it’s one of my absolute favourites. I'll be dancing along in my tutu during the ballet, of course - you simply can't help it! 💃

I’ll be sure to share my review of the show in next week’s post, darlings. So, stay tuned! ✨ Until then, don’t forget to sprinkle some pink into your day - and remember, a pink tutu is the key to a happy heart and a joyful soul. 💖

Lots of love,

Emma 🩰

P.S. Did you know? On 16 June 1963, the world-famous “Beatles” released their debut album, Please Please Me! 💖 It feels appropriate to dedicate a bit of Pink Tutu energy to the Fab Four. Their music has a whimsical, colourful quality, so it feels right to say... let’s all put on a pink tutu, turn on our music, and dance the day away! 🎉
