Pink Tutu Blog London: #1094 - A Friday Filled with Frills and Fancies
Hello, my lovely readers!
It's Friday, and you know what that means – a brand new London blog post from your favourite pink tutu-wearing traveller! This week I’m all about exploring the city in style, of course, and I’m just so excited to share my adventures with you all. It feels like an absolute dream come true – I can't believe I’m living out my girly dreams, all thanks to my passion for ballet. It's incredible what you can achieve when you follow your heart, eh?
Derbyshire to London - All Aboard!
After a rather early start from the wilds of Derbyshire (think green hills and lots of sheep), I hopped on a train and was off to London. My journey started at Matlock station, which for me, feels like a portal to a new world. As the train glided out of Derbyshire and into the bustling cityscape, I found myself picturing a little girl me in my tutu dreaming about being in the heart of London. My heart swelled with excitement as the tall buildings grew closer. It's hard not to feel happy in a tutu when you're headed to the most fabulous city in the world!
London Arrival - Time For Fashion!
And the feeling of happiness only intensified when I arrived at Paddington Station, which for me is an art deco beauty! Of course, the very first thing I did after I collected my case (and yes, of course it was pink!), was find a photo spot to capture that special first moment in London with my tutu. I can’t resist a bit of ‘tutu-graphy’ - a bit of posing to mark this great occasion. There's nothing like getting a bit dramatic in a fabulous outfit and taking some selfies for the Gram, is there?
After taking some lovely pics, my first stop was always going to be Oxford Street. Let's face it - if you're a tutu-loving, girly girl with an insatiable hunger for all things pretty, you need a little retail therapy, right? After spending my childhood going on school trips to London's various museums (they always had free admission – so no tutus!), I’ve now discovered the joy of finding stylish pink garments to make any girl's day. And of course, it has to be on Oxford Street!
Oxford Street Adventures - Fashion Paradise
Now, anyone who knows me knows that I have a soft spot for frills and fancies. Imagine my delight when I stumbled upon a vintage boutique, overflowing with sparkly dresses and elegant hats. It was a fashion enthusiast's paradise! I had to take a moment to breathe in the intoxicating scent of old lace and satin, the scent of history and pure beauty. It was like stepping into a time capsule of pure glamour. My favourite discovery was a silk dress, a beautiful pink, of course, with intricate lace detailing. It screamed “twirling in the London streets”, didn't it?
As the sun began to set, painting the London sky in a glorious symphony of orange and purple, I ventured into a cosy café for a well-deserved cuppa and a delicious slice of cake. The perfect end to a shopping spree!
A Magical Evening at the Royal Opera House
But London wasn't just about the shopping, of course. The real highlight of my day was an evening at the Royal Opera House, an absolutely beautiful theatre and the ultimate destination for any ballet lover! The ballet tonight was Swan Lake, one of my favourite classic performances. The energy of the theatre and the pure skill and emotion of the dancers truly left me breathless.
There was a special atmosphere at the theatre tonight. From the moment I arrived, dressed in a light, swirling pink tulle tutu and shimmering pink top, the whole evening was just pure magic! The elegant setting, the beautiful performances and the thrill of the music and dancing all combine to create a memory I’ll cherish for ever.
A Late Night - City Lights
And as the evening drew to a close, I found myself wandering through the bustling streets, adorned with the glittering lights of London. A sense of wonder and excitement washed over me - how could I possibly be so lucky? To experience all these wonderful sights and sounds, in the beautiful city I'd always dreamed of visiting, with my lucky pink tutu by my side!
Time To Go - Until Next Friday
Sadly, all good things must come to an end. I reluctantly left the magical city lights and boarded a train heading back to Derbyshire. The city lights became a fading memory, and the landscape once again turned into green rolling hills and sleepy villages.
But before I go, I’d love to know your favourite places in London! Do let me know in the comments below! And of course, you can always visit my website www.pink-tutu.com, which has been my absolute delight since I started my London blog.
Until next Friday, darling readers, I hope you have a beautiful weekend, full of ballet, twirling and lovely things.
