Pink Tutu Blog London - #1100 - A Friday of Frocktails, Frills & Fabulous Finds 🩰💖🥂

Hiya lovelies! It's Friday, which means it's time for another fabulous Pink Tutu Blog London post! Today I'm spilling the tea on my whirlwind trip to the big smoke, and it was nothing short of an absolute dream.

I swapped my Derbyshire hills for the bustling streets of London this morning, and what a journey it was! The train journey is always an absolute joy. There's just something magical about the quiet thrumming of the engine and the way the scenery flies past the window. I spent the journey curled up with a good book (the latest Jane Austen adaption, naturally), and dreamt up some outfit inspiration for my day of London adventures.

You know I can't resist a good shopping spree, and London just screams retail therapy! It was time to unearth some sartorial treasures - a pink floral silk scarf from Liberty's (it's practically an art gallery for textiles!), and a pair of divine red lace heels from a little vintage boutique tucked away on a cobbled street in Notting Hill. And let's not forget the inevitable pink tutu pick-up! Found a real stunner, a blush pink number with layers of tulle so dreamy, I can practically hear the waltz playing when I twirl in it!

Speaking of twirling, after my retail haul, I took a ballet class in a hidden studio off Oxford Street. Just what my body (and mind) needed after a morning of shopping. There's just something so grounding about stretching, leaping, and feeling the flow of movement. Plus, it helps to keep this tutu-clad body toned and ready for all the waltzing I'm sure I'll be doing this weekend!

Now, you all know how much I adore a good theatre show! This evening I went to the West End to see "The Lion King". Honestly, words can't describe how incredible it was. The costumes, the music, the dancing… it truly blew me away. My favourite part had to be the vibrant colours, it was a feast for the eyes. It's definitely on my list of shows to recommend to everyone!

Frocktails anyone?

Later, I took a stroll along the South Bank, admiring the views of the Thames and Big Ben. It was like stepping into a scene from a film, all those iconic buildings. And then came the highlight of my evening – a glass of bubbly at a quirky riverside bar, where I bumped into fellow pink tutu enthusiast and ballerina, Millie.

Millie is a fantastic costume designer, and we had the most delightful chat about everything from the latest Parisian runway shows to our upcoming performance in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. You guys, you HAVE to check out Millie's work. Her designs are bold, beautiful, and totally inspired by her love of vintage glamour.

My dear friend is also an absolute gem! We had a blast exchanging stories, catching up, and of course, dreaming up even more fun ways to bring the pink tutu spirit to life. We already have a million plans brewing, including a collaborative performance showcasing some of her amazing costume designs!

Back in Derbyshire

And now, as I'm settling back into my Derbyshire cottage, with the scent of lavender from my garden filling the air, I'm already feeling inspired for next week’s adventure! Maybe a weekend trip to Brighton or a ballet class in the Peak District – the possibilities are endless!

Remember to check out my website for more pics of my London trip and some fab tips for anyone wanting to bring some extra "pink" into their lives!

Until next time, darlings!

Yours always,

Emma
