Pink Tutu Blog London: #1099 - A Whirlwind Friday in the Big Smoke!

Hello my darlings! It's Emma, your favourite tutu-clad travel blogger, back with another exciting entry from the pinkest of all cities - London! Today's blog post is a little extra special, because this Friday marked the beginning of a whole weekend of fun in the Big Smoke. And what better way to celebrate a weekend in London than with a twirl in my favourite pink tutu? ๐Ÿ˜‰

I packed my biggest and pinkest suitcase, said goodbye to my lovely Derbyshire countryside, and hopped on the train for a swish, chic and efficient journey to London. The train ride was my usual blissful escape from the world, where I could indulge in my favourite pink fluffy slippers and indulge in a good book (you'll never guess, but it was a historical fiction about ballerinas!) I even found myself humming a little bit of Swan Lake while I was at it, if you can believe it!

London's Pink Promises

Arriving in the bustling city, I felt a familiar buzz of excitement coursing through me. You see, London has always had a special place in my heart - a sort of pink-hued wonderland! My arrival this Friday was no different, I practically waltzed off the train, my pink tulle swirling around my feet with each step. London always feels a bit magical, but for a girly-girl like me, this city becomes even more charming and magical. Every corner is brimming with vintage tea shops, darling boutiques with the most delightful dresses, and of course, some of the best ballet performances in the world!

From the Ballet to the Borough Market

The highlight of my trip (so far, because we all know my London weekends are filled with wonderful surprises) was the stunning performance of 'Giselle' at the Royal Opera House. Seeing these graceful ballerinas glide across the stage in their billowing tutus and graceful costumes really transported me back to my childhood, to the very first moment I dreamed of twirling on stage under the spotlights. You could say I was pretty darn inspired!

After the performance, the excitement wasn't over! I knew I had to head over to Borough Market. I adore a bit of retail therapy, but I always love a visit to a market with authentic British food and craft vendors. What better way to experience London than a trip through Borough?

And, you'll never guess what I found there! The most gorgeous pink teacups and a tiny shop crammed with hand-stitched pink tutus and beautiful dance shoes! It was a tutu lover's dream come true, let me tell you. I swear, I think my heart did a little pirouette of joy.

A Night Under the Stars... And a Little bit of Theatre

The evening ended on a very whimsical note. With my newly purchased teacups tucked safely in my bag, I went for a stroll through Covent Garden. Seeing all the colourful street performers, smelling the scents wafting from the street food stalls, listening to the rhythmic patter of rain falling on cobblestones - I was in awe! It really is like a fairytale come to life. And of course, a stroll wouldn't be complete without a little stop at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, the historic beauty of the theatre is something you must see for yourself. The night felt so incredibly special, as if the city itself was twirling with me in a grand ballet. I felt the pinkest kind of joy filling my soul!

Day Two's Pink Paradise... Onward to Notting Hill!

I woke up this morning feeling incredibly refreshed and utterly giddy, ready to face a new day of London's magical wonders. First stop, a fabulous breakfast at a cute little cafe in Covent Garden - pink pastries, you know how much I love them!

Then, I was off to explore Notting Hill. With its charming houses and vibrant market, Notting Hill was practically a colour explosion, with pink peeking around every corner!

This weekend, I have grand plans to explore Notting Hill and Hyde Park - two of London's most picturesque spots. There will be shopping, laughter, maybe even a little impromptu waltz in the park, if the weather cooperates, of course! Stay tuned for tomorrow's update, which is sure to be overflowing with all the deliciousness of a quintessential London weekend!

And before I end this pink-filled blog post, I want to leave you with this message: Remember, London's magic isn't just in its iconic sights and sounds - it's also in its unexpected little pockets of joy and inspiration. So get out there, put on your own pink tutu, and see where your own adventure leads!

Until next week, keep dancing, keep exploring, and always, always, be your own lovely shade of pink.

Lots of love,

Emma xxx
