#PinkTutuBlogLondon: A Friday Whirl Through London! 🩰
Hello darlings! It’s your favourite tutu-clad traveller, Emma, and welcome to post number 1102 on www.pink-tutu.com, your one-stop shop for all things pink, fabulous, and fiercely feminine!
This week, I'm bringing you a delightful dose of London sunshine, as I hopped on the train from my Derbyshire home and made my way to the heart of the city, a destination that always gets my twirling shoes tapping with excitement.
For a gal like me, who's obsessed with all things theatrical and fancy, London is the ultimate playground. From the majesty of the Royal Opera House to the charm of Covent Garden's street performances, every corner seems to pulse with the rhythm of creativity. And let’s be honest, nothing screams "London fun" more than a trip on the Underground, even if the tube's crammed full of suited commuters (although a few pink tutus wouldn't hurt in that sea of grey!).
Tutu Travels & Theatrical TreatsNow, you all know I live by the motto "Tutu everywhere!" So, my London adventures began with a pink tutu upgrade! My local vintage boutique, "The Dressing Room," has an amazing collection of the fluffiest, most beautiful tutus. I snagged a new number in blush pink, just the shade for the beautiful autumn leaves starting to sprinkle the city. It's called "Rosy Sunset" - how divine, right?
Later, I took myself for a little culture fix with the most divine show, “Moulin Rouge! The Musical,” playing at the Piccadilly Theatre. I always find theatre so inspiring - the costumes, the stories, the pure artistry… pure magic! If you're in London, book your tickets right now! Trust me, it's worth every penny.
The Big City BiteNo trip to London is complete without a spot of lunch at a posh café! This time I wandered through Soho and found the cutest little place called "The Floral Deli." The décor was as adorable as the food. We're talking mismatched china, fluffy cushions, and even a little corner for children to draw!
They had the best selection of salads, sandwiches, and cakes (I, of course, went for the strawberry and elderflower sponge - totally delicious!).
I just loved how friendly and welcoming everyone was - London often feels very impersonal, but this place really stood out.
Ballet & Boutique TherapyAfter all that eating, I needed some serious retail therapy. And where else would I go, but Harrods! Harrods is just... sigh I'm talking exquisite windows filled with glittering fashions, the most gorgeous flower displays, and of course, an entire floor dedicated to all things pink! (I spent a good half hour browsing the luxury lingerie - those silk nightgowns are practically a work of art, darling!).
You know what truly made my day? I found the cutest pink ballerina-themed handbag, complete with a miniature ballerina holding a miniature ballet slipper! It was literally screaming, “Emma, take me home!”
And the evening wasn’t over yet! I made it to Sadler’s Wells for a breathtaking contemporary ballet performance, "A Moving Landscape." I have to say, the choreography and the music were absolutely breathtaking, and my heart skipped a beat a few times from the sheer passion of the dancers!
A Friday Night FeverBut before I end this little love letter to London, I had to treat myself to one last experience: a fabulous cocktail at the gorgeous, "The Bloomsbury Hotel." This is the most stunning place with a stunning garden bar (imagine vintage floral décor, twinkling lights, and enough comfy chairs to host a ballroom dance!). They served me a drink called “The Duchess,” with gin, pink grapefruit, and a tiny touch of pink lemonade! What a perfect end to the day, and perfect to match my little tutu!
London Calling:It's hard not to feel inspired after spending a day in London. The city is bursting with creativity and so much colour. But for me, it's about remembering the things that make London unique.
So what is London about? It's about the joy of theatre, the deliciousness of vintage finds, the energy of Covent Garden, the comfort of a good book, and the excitement of discovering a hidden little gem you never knew existed! It's also about embracing life with a touch of pink - which, of course, I encourage all of you to do, every single day!
I hope my little London escapade has inspired you to get out and explore! Remember, the world is full of adventures, waiting to be discovered - just remember your pink tutu and keep an eye on the #PinkTutuBlogLondon tag for my next post!
Until then, happy twirling darlings! 💖
