Pink Tutu Blog London #1115: A Day of Whimsy in London Town

Hello darlings! It's Friday again, which means it's time for another installment of your favourite London blog, coming to you straight from the heart of the city – and of course, directly from my pink tutu. 🩰

This week, I took a lovely train journey down from my Derbyshire home to experience all the wonder and joy that London has to offer. I do love a good train ride. Something about the gentle rocking, the views out of the window, and the sense of adventure that fills the air makes my heart soar!

Oh, and let’s not forget my favourite part of every journey - finding the perfect spot to rock my tutu! This week I was rocking a fluffy, cloud-like tulle confection with a smattering of glitter – it shimmered as beautifully as the morning sunshine as I waited on the platform! ✨

As soon as I got to the station, I knew it was going to be a special day! A vibrant pop of sunshine peeked through the clouds and, I don’t know about you darlings, but a bit of sun always sets my mood to a magical tune. It seemed like the whole city was ready to dance!

My London adventure began in Covent Garden. Now, you all know my weakness – a bit of theatre magic, so what could be better than a spot of ballet, and a dose of shopping at my favourite boutique in the area?

After a delightful coffee and a croissant (absolutely the perfect way to start any day in London!) I dashed across to the Royal Opera House for a breathtaking performance of "The Sleeping Beauty." Oh my goodness! The beauty of the costumes, the sheer talent of the dancers, the captivating story - it was simply mesmerising. I absolutely loved it, and left with a smile plastered across my face and a twinkle in my eye, all ready to soak up the vibrancy of London.

You know I always try to incorporate my love for fashion and shopping into my travels. London is a city where I can always find a piece to make my tutu-wearing heart skip a beat. Today, I was on the lookout for something unique and fabulous. This Friday’s fashion find was a magnificent pink floral fascinator – just the thing to complete any outfit for a theatre performance or even an evening out dancing. The colours were absolutely glorious - like a garden of blossoms bursting with life!

Now, to be perfectly honest, my Friday afternoon was absolutely a tale of two cities… I was swept away by the magic of London’s historic heart in the morning, but then was lured into a completely different kind of charm by the colourful chaos of Camden Market.

Camden was just as vibrant and exciting as the Covent Garden, but with a touch of more "alternative" flavour. I loved browsing the independent stalls, looking at handcrafted jewellery and the quirky outfits. You can find anything your heart desires in Camden. But I’ll tell you a little secret… it also houses my absolute favourite pink tutu shop - oh my goodness, it’s a tutu-lovers paradise, with tutus in every shape, colour, and size. I spent ages looking at everything and walked out with a couple of new treasures for my collection!

It wouldn’t be a Friday in London without a little pink sparkle, glitter, and magic. I popped by a little coffee shop, with an enchanting garden patio, and snatched a photograph for my instagram story. I wanted to share my whimsical joy with everyone I was delighted by the responses and lovely comments – I love connecting with my online family and spreading the love of pink tutus all over the world!

Speaking of spreading love, one of my absolute favourite things about travelling around the world in my pink tutu is meeting people from different walks of life and sharing the simple joy of a pink tutu. The smiles and laughs I get are truly heartwarming and remind me that the world is full of kind, creative and colourful people, and why wouldn't they want to wear a pink tutu with a splash of glitter?

Evenings in London are magical! The city lights twinkling and reflecting in the River Thames, the soft buzz of people going about their Friday nights. The whole place has this wonderful energy that pulls you in.

On this particular Friday, I went to the Globe Theatre to watch “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” and boy oh boy, it was a real treat. This is one of the greatest pieces of Shakespeare's writing, and the show was fantastic. I absolutely adore how much creativity and joy goes into every aspect of theatrical performance and how each member of the cast and crew works together to create something so special. Of course, I wore a very special tutu, *sparkling and whimsical, to add my own magic to the experience. * I mean, how else would a tutu enthusiast take in a Shakespeare play?

By the time I was leaving for my train back to Derbyshire, I felt my heart bursting with all the experiences I’d packed into a day. I’d fallen in love with London all over again.

I always love coming back to London. It never fails to ignite my creativity, fuel my spirit of adventure, and reminds me to always embrace the magical, the playful, and the delightful things in life. And you know what’s truly delightful, and always reminds me to never stop being playful?

Wearing a pink tutu!

That's my Friday story, darlings! I hope you all enjoyed it, and maybe it will inspire you to take on a little London adventure, or maybe even put on your favourite pink tutu! Remember to keep dreaming big, shining bright, and most importantly, wearing a pink tutu whenever you feel like it!

Lots of pink tutu love! 💖
