Pink Tutu Blog: London Adventures - Post 1124 - Friday 16th March, 2018 ๐ฉฐ
Hello darlings!
It's Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-wearing ballerina, bringing you another Friday update from the fabulous world of www.pink-tutu.com! This week I've taken a whirlwind trip to London, and let me tell you, it was utterly divine. London is just magic, and I am convinced everyone needs a little dose of this beautiful city in their lives!
Now, you know my love for ballet is well-documented, and that's precisely how I fund my amazing adventures. Last weekend, I took to the stage in Derbyshire with a gorgeous performance of "Giselle." We had such an enthusiastic audience โ the little ones were utterly mesmerized, and you can't help but smile when you see their eyes shining with wonder. It's these moments that make everything worthwhile, and with the funds from that performance, I embarked on my London escapade!
So, without further ado, let's dive right into my fabulous Friday in the heart of London. It's a pink tutu-loving girl's dream!
Arriving in London by Train ๐For a gal like me, the journey itself is an adventure. Train journeys are a delightful way to get to London, and honestly, one of my favourite things! Imagine, comfy seats, breathtaking countryside views, and the opportunity to indulge in a spot of afternoon tea โ just what the doctor ordered! I donned my latest outfit - a pale pink tutu layered over a silky navy slip dress - and topped it off with my trusty lavender cardigan (you never know about London's unpredictable weather!).
I even took the liberty of snapping a few pictures on the journey. I mean, come on, my tutu and the train tracks - the perfect combination for an Instagram post, right?
Tip: Always make sure your tutu is secure before jumping onto a train. We wouldn't want any unfortunate wardrobe malfunctions now, would we? ๐
A Touch of London Glamour - Shopping Spree!๐๏ธAfter arriving at Paddington Station, I practically skipped with glee to one of my favourite spots in London โ Oxford Street! That buzzing, vibrant atmosphere, the windows bursting with colours, the sheer variety of shops... I was utterly mesmerized! And let's be honest, there's always an opportunity to find the perfect outfit to make you feel like a ballerina even when you're not on stage.
After an hour or two, my bags were bursting with treasures! A vibrant fuchsia handbag, sparkly ballet flats in the most dazzling shade of pink (gotta add some extra twinkle to my steps!), and a silk scarf printed with elegant swans โ what's a ballet-loving girl to do?
Tip: Always have a little dance party in the dressing room. Nothing says confidence and style quite like a twirl!
The Theatre's Enchanting World โจI was heading to see "Les Miserables" at the Queen's Theatre in the evening. "Les Mis" is such a powerful piece โ it stirs something deep within you, leaving you moved, inspired, and maybe even a little bit teary-eyed! And of course, it has the most amazing music that makes me want to bust out my ballet shoes and dance. I chose to wear my vintage black and pink tutu - a timeless classic - paired with a white, flowing top for the theatre performance.
Tip: Always have a sparkly hair clip for theatre performances - just a touch of extra flair for the ultimate London glamour.
London's Charm: The Magic of the StreetsOne of the highlights of my day was my evening stroll through Covent Garden. The air was filled with laughter and the aroma of fresh pastries, and there was music in every corner. From street performers and talented musicians to fascinating displays of flowers and souvenirs, every little corner whispered stories of a vibrant city alive with life. The historic buildings and cobblestone streets made me feel like I was transported back in time.
I took in the lively energy of the square, with the elegant stalls displaying handcrafted jewelry and souvenirs. This part of London has so much personality, and the vibrant mix of historical architecture and contemporary street art makes it incredibly special.
And who could resist a cup of steaming hot chocolate from one of the many cozy cafes that line the cobbled streets? โ
Tip: The charm of London is found in the small things โ like noticing the beautiful detail in a building's facade, or the stories that unfold in a tiny shop window. Let your eyes wander, and your heart will be captured.
A Final Ballet Class โ Never Stop Learning! ๐ฉฐA ballet-loving girl's trip to London simply wouldn't be complete without a ballet class. So, naturally, I made sure to squeeze one in on my schedule! This city has some of the finest dance studios in the world. The energy in the class was electric, and the teachers are incredibly inspiring. They're all about sharing their passion, guiding us to refine our technique, and celebrating the pure joy of dancing. I donned a beautiful pink tutu, of course - and this time, a silk-shirred bodysuit, making my body look toned and elegant! It felt incredible to lose myself in the beauty of movement. I finished my London adventure with a newfound inspiration and appreciation for ballet, thanks to the experience of the ballet class.
The Last Bite of London ๐ฐI was at the most amazing cafรฉ near Piccadilly, just off the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street. This was such a beautiful little retreat with the most adorable pink velvet armchairs โ it's no wonder I was practically glued to my seat.
You can't be in London without having afternoon tea. And trust me, it was divine! Delicious little finger sandwiches, delectable pastries, and steaming pots of aromatic tea. It was a moment of pure delight, savouring the sweet taste of London in my heart.
And now, as I hop onto the train and wave goodbye to London, my heart is brimming with joy and a thousand stories. This trip has given me inspiration, fueled my passion for pink tutus and all things glamorous. I'm already eagerly awaiting my next adventure in the world of dance. Until then, remember to dance, twirl, and always let your inner ballerina shine.
Until next week!
Love, Emma ๐ฉฐ๐
