This week, I traded in my Derbyshire countryside charm for the bustling energy of London. The journey by train was simply magical - the landscape changing from rolling green hills to towering cityscapes, each scene unfolding like a beautiful ballet. And, of course, I was sporting my signature pink tutu for the journey, adding a splash of whimsical colour to the carriage. 😊
Now, if you're like me, you just know London is a fashionista's playground. And let me tell you, the pink tutu just blends right in here! This week, my aim was to explore the city's diverse theatre scene, find some fabulous new outfits, and, well, spread the pink tutu love, naturally. 💖
Theatre Land: Ballet, Shows & Sparkling Dreams! 🎭✨Firstly, I simply had to catch a show. I was so excited to be catching Les Misérables at the Queen's Theatre, and trust me, it didn't disappoint! The powerhouse vocals, the heart-wrenching story, the elaborate set - I was completely swept away.
Afterward, I wandered around the Covent Garden area, soaking in the buzzing energy and admiring the intricate street performers. Did you know Covent Garden was originally a fruit and vegetable market? Now it's a melting pot of entertainment and fashion, with quirky shops and charming cafes tucked away in every corner.
Naturally, my London adventure couldn't be complete without a dose of ballet! The Royal Opera House always holds a special place in my heart, so I took a peak at their schedule. Sadly, I missed their latest production of Giselle, which I hear is spectacular, but they have so many other incredible shows coming up. I can't wait to go back for the Royal Ballet's Romeo and Juliet, a story that's eternally fascinating!
Shopping Spree: Where the Pink Tutu is King 👑🛍️Okay, now let's talk fashion! You know I simply can't resist a good shopping spree, and London delivers in spades. My first stop was Liberty London, a store filled with gorgeous textiles, elegant fashion, and beautifully curated homeware. I even snagged a lovely pink floral scarf - perfect for adding a pop of colour to my tutu outfits!
Next, I popped into Harrods, where I treated myself to a divine cup of afternoon tea (think tiny sandwiches, delicious cakes, and a pot of steaming Earl Grey - bliss!). While I admired their elegant department stores, it was in the little independent boutiques where I truly fell in love. I'm talking hidden treasures tucked away down alleyways, overflowing with vintage gems and unique designs. I came away with the most gorgeous velvet jacket in the deepest shade of pink, it’s the perfect accent for my tutu.
And who could forget Carnaby Street, London's iconic shopping mecca? I couldn't resist picking up a couple of vintage treasures - a quirky little pin featuring a ballerina, and a funky t-shirt adorned with sparkling glitter!
London Life: Taking in the Sights & Sounds ✨London isn't just about theatre and shopping, though. The city comes alive with its charming little cafes, hidden courtyards, and vibrant street art.
I strolled through the beautiful Hyde Park, enjoying a leisurely afternoon in the sunshine. The park is such a tranquil oasis in the heart of London, perfect for picnics, long walks, or simply catching your breath after a hectic morning of shopping.
Later in the afternoon, I hopped on the London Eye for a breathtaking view of the cityscape. As I gazed out over the glittering Thames and iconic landmarks, I realised just how magical London truly is. And let me tell you, the pink tutu definitely caught some eyes as I floated among the crowds! 😜
