Oh darling, I’m back! This Friday, your favourite pink tutu-clad ballerina has taken the train to the Big Smoke for a day of exploring. And, of course, there’s no better place to get your fashion fix and embrace the joys of a life filled with twirls and glitter than London.
The air was alive with the buzz of excited anticipation as I stepped off the train and breathed in the aroma of fish and chips – the quintessential London treat, just like I’ve always dreamt of! Today was all about indulging in London’s charm, from its cobbled streets to its majestic architecture. My trusty tutu (a lusciously soft shade of bubblegum pink, naturally!) flowed beautifully with each step.
And as I embarked on my adventure, I couldn’t resist capturing the beauty of the moment in my #PinkTutuBlog photos! Remember, darling, if you want to wear a pink tutu – it’s just gotta happen! We’re living our best life!
Travel by Train
For this journey, I chose to take the train – such a civilised and romantic way to travel, don’t you think? My journey from Derbyshire was surprisingly swift – the countryside whizzing past my window like a painting. And the best part? I could slip into my tutu mid-journey – no fuss, no muss, just pure ballet bliss. I arrived at Paddington Station feeling absolutely divine.
First stop: Covent Garden
Stepping out of the station and onto the streets of Covent Garden, the magic of London wrapped me in a warm hug. It felt like a movie set! And that smell, a delicious mix of flowers, pastries and the faint whiff of theatre! The market was a kaleidoscope of colours – stalls overflowing with blooms, hand-crafted jewellery, street food tempting you with all its gorgeous smells! And, oh my, the people! The sartorial expressions, the artistry! London fashion always takes my breath away – it's a fusion of vintage elegance and cutting-edge cool.
My trusty pink tutu attracted lots of smiles and compliments. I even spotted a little girl in a pink tutu – I know it made her day, and it definitely made mine too! It's always so wonderful seeing how tutus inspire a feeling of fun and joy. I hope my journey inspires everyone to embrace their inner tutu, too!
Shopping Heaven – Liberty and The Chiltern Firehouse
After a leisurely stroll through Covent Garden, my attention was drawn to Liberty, an iconic store I'd been longing to visit for ages! The entire store is a whirlwind of vintage loveliness. The beautifully curated displays, the sumptuous silks and intricate lace – it felt like I had stumbled into a secret wonderland. Oh, and the perfume section – pure enchantment! There’s nothing like being in an environment brimming with creativity!
I knew the Chiltern Firehouse was a must-visit on this trip, and it didn’t disappoint! The elegance and exclusivity were evident in every detail. From the sumptuous furnishings to the warm ambiance, the experience felt like stepping into a movie set! While I only had time for a quick glass of sparkling, I felt a thrill of excitement knowing that so many famous and interesting people had been inside those doors!
The London Ballet Show – An Evening of Enchantment
It wouldn’t be a proper Pink Tutu Blog London visit without experiencing a ballet show, darling. The evening performance at the Royal Opera House was a masterpiece, and the stage design was as stunning as ever! The ballerinas danced like birds, and their movements were utterly captivating. I felt my own tutu tingle with excitement as I joined the applause. It was simply magical!
Later that night, as I headed home from my adventures in London, the pink hues of the sunset cast an ethereal glow on the city’s skyline, making me realise once again why London is one of my all-time favourite cities. I even bought a few little souvenirs to take home - a cute London teacup and a silver pendulum to adorn my tutu. The pink glow of the night lights echoed the spirit of London, which to me is one of the most magical cities in the world!
