Pink Tutu Blog: London Calling! #1129
Hello my lovely readers! It's Friday again, which means it's time for a new Pink Tutu Blog post! This week I'm taking you with me on a whirlwind trip to London! I know, I know, you're probably thinking, "Emma, another trip to London? Didn't you just go a few weeks ago?" But honestly, darling, there's just so much to see and do in this fantastic city that I couldn't resist another visit.
This time, I decided to make it a proper "girl's day out", just me and my trusty pink tutu (of course). I boarded the train from Derbyshire early Friday morning, feeling incredibly excited about all the fun that lay ahead. There's something about a train journey that gets my creative juices flowing. I spent the ride catching up on my emails and social media (because a Pink Tutu Blogger always has to be up-to-date!), then indulged in a delicious scone with clotted cream and jam - the perfect treat for a day exploring London!
London Adventures in Pink:Once I arrived in London, the first thing I did was, as always, find the perfect spot to take a tutu-tastic photo. After all, what’s a Pink Tutu Blog post without a sprinkle of pink tulle?! Today, I chose the beautiful backdrop of Covent Garden Market – so many colourful flowers, whimsical shops, and talented street performers – it felt like stepping into a fairy tale.
Next up, I indulged in some serious retail therapy. I simply cannot resist a good shopping spree, and London offers a veritable treasure trove of fashion heaven. From vintage treasures on Portobello Road to the designer havens of Bond Street, my afternoon was dedicated to finding new wardrobe gems. And what's a Pink Tutu outfit without the perfect pair of heels? I snagged a pair of rose-gold pointed pumps from my favourite boutique that just scream London chic.
No trip to London would be complete without taking in a theatrical spectacle, and I'm lucky enough to be a part of the London Ballet this season. Tonight I'll be dancing the role of a graceful nymph in "Swan Lake" at the majestic Royal Opera House. I'm absolutely buzzing! The atmosphere at the ROH is incredible - so much history and elegance, you truly feel like you're stepping back in time. And as for the performance? Let's just say that ballet truly does touch my soul. I can’t imagine a more perfect way to end my London escapade.
What’s on in London? Before I leave you, darlings, let's take a moment to see what London has on offer this weekend:
- Art: The Royal Academy of Arts is hosting "The World Goes Pop," an incredible exhibition exploring Pop Art across the globe. If you're looking for colourful inspiration, this is the perfect place to go!
- Fashion: For fashionistas like me, London Fashion Week Men's is in full swing! Catch a glimpse of the latest menswear trends and be inspired by the creative energy in the air.
- Theatre: London’s theatrical scene never disappoints! Tonight, the National Theatre is putting on "Hamlet," one of Shakespeare's greatest works. For a classic performance with a contemporary twist, book your tickets today.
But it’s not all about ballet and shopping for me! Remember, my ultimate goal is to get the world to wear pink tutus! And, I’m making progress, bit by bit! During my shopping trip, I saw a lovely lady at Covent Garden who wore a fluffy pink skirt with a pair of sparkly flats. It reminded me that pink tutus don’t have to be the classic ballet tutu; we can all express our inner pink tutu with a touch of whimsy, creativity, and a sprinkle of confidence!
What I Wore in London:Of course, no blog post would be complete without sharing what I wore during my London adventures. Today's outfit was inspired by the vibrant atmosphere of Covent Garden: I wore my signature bright pink tutu, but paired it with a sleek black turtleneck sweater and some sparkly ankle boots for a sophisticated touch. Adding a statement red lip and some dainty silver jewelry, I was ready for a day of exploring London in style!
London, you always steal my heart! I can't wait to be back soon!

XOXO, Emma
