This week, I’m bringing you a whirlwind tour of a glorious Friday spent exploring the capital, all fuelled by the sheer joy of pink tutus, dazzling performances, and fabulous fashion finds. Let’s dive in!
A Tutu-tastic Train Journey to the Big Smoke
As usual, I opted for a classic train journey from Derbyshire to London. I love the rhythmic clinking of the tracks and the dreamy view of the English countryside whizzing by. Of course, I couldn't resist my signature pink tutu for the occasion, topped off with a chic pink blazer and some sparkly ballet flats. My fellow passengers were delightfully intrigued, and I swear I saw a couple of smiles peeking out from behind their newspapers. Who can resist a splash of pink, eh?
Morning Delight: A Ballet Masterclass in the City
The first stop on my London itinerary? A ballet masterclass at the beautiful Danceworks Studios! These sessions are a fantastic way to stay in top form, connect with fellow dancers, and get a real feel for the pulse of London's vibrant dance scene. My legs may have felt like jelly at the end, but my spirit soared! The sheer energy and talent in the room was exhilarating, and I definitely learned a few new moves (that I might, might attempt to recreate on stage... stay tuned!)
Lunchtime Feast at The Ritz
After my invigorating dance session, it was time to fuel up! Now, no visit to London is complete without a pit stop at The Ritz, one of my favourite London institutions. I absolutely adore the elegance and glamour of this grand hotel, and their afternoon tea is simply divine! Sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, and a selection of finger sandwiches... It's a true indulgence!
Shopping Extravaganza in Knightsbridge
Following lunch, I ventured into Knightsbridge, a haven for fashion lovers. This was a must on my London itinerary. I'm utterly smitten with Harrods, with its glittering windows and incredible selection of everything imaginable. While I did pick up a few must-have essentials – a stunning pink satin handbag and a pair of impossibly chic ballet flats, (sorry not sorry!) - I also took the opportunity to admire the gorgeous window displays and dream of all the treasures inside.
Evening Splendour: A Theatrical Feast
Now, I couldn't possibly come to London without taking in a spectacular performance! Tonight’s treat? "The Phantom of the Opera" at Her Majesty's Theatre. The haunting music, the dramatic costumes, and the dazzling staging – it was everything I'd hoped for and more! The Phantom's mask had me totally captivated, and I'm pretty sure my heart skipped a beat or two during the chandelier scene. What an unforgettable way to round off a perfect day!
London Lights and Sweet Dreams
After a quick pitstop at one of my favourite pubs for a delicious glass of merlot, it was time to wander through the lit-up streets of Covent Garden and soak up the buzzing night life. I particularly enjoyed browsing the quirky little shops, from vintage fashion stores to artisanal bakeries. London is a treasure trove of surprises at every turn!
A Tutu-ful Night
Finally, it was time to settle in for the night, the buzz of the city a soothing lullaby as I dreamt of swirling pink tutus and graceful pirouettes.

And so ends another glorious adventure in the heart of London. My week in this vibrant city never ceases to amaze and inspire me. Every corner has a new tale to tell, every street a chance to make a dazzling entrance. As I prepare for my return journey home, I can't help but feel a wave of gratitude. I'm so thankful to be able to share my love for ballet, fashion, and exploring new destinations with all of you!
