#PinkTutuBlogLondon: A Tutu-tastic Adventure in London Town! (Post #1144)

Friday 2018-08-03

Oh darling, hello! It's Emma here, your resident pink tutu enthusiast, and this week I'm bouncing back with another thrilling #PinkTutuBlogLondon post, straight from the bustling heart of the big city.

The Train Journey: A Whirlwind of Colour

Today, my adventure began with a breezy train ride from my little corner of Derbyshire. Now, as you all know, I'm quite a creature of habit – my go-to train outfit is always my trusty pink tutu (because, duh, it's pink!) teamed up with a fluffy, lilac cardigan and some trusty, sparkly ballerina flats. And this trip was no exception! I spotted a lovely lady across the carriage in a gorgeous turquoise dress with a pink flower in her hair. I thought, "Well, wouldn't it be a dream if we were both rocking pink tutus instead?" I just can't help myself, sometimes!

London Landing: The Heartbeat of the City

Reaching the station in London, my heart always jumps with excitement. The energy of the city is electric, a symphony of voices and movement. The aroma of fresh coffee and pastries from the little cafes near the station always beckons me in. But today, I'm on a mission, a tutu-filled quest, so I grabbed a quick bite and hopped on the Underground (such a fancy term for the tube, isn't it?).

My First Stop: A Symphony in Pink

For this first foray into the city, I wanted to see something vibrant and lively. I couldn't resist visiting the Royal Albert Hall. With its grand exterior and stunning acoustics, it's a venue steeped in history and artistry, but most importantly...it's also a hotbed of colour! Today, it hosted a fantastic exhibition by the world-renowned designer, Vivienne Westwood. Oh, the clothes! There were incredible pieces on display – edgy, bold, and dripping in fashion history. But you know me, my eye was always drawn to the splash of pink here and there – a perfect touch of playful elegance that contrasted beautifully with the bolder pieces. It was almost as if the whole exhibition was shouting: "Go on, wear a pink tutu! Embrace your inner ballerina!" It was the perfect start to a day in the city.

Afternoon Delights: The Magic of Fashion

No visit to London is complete without a little bit of shopping, right? Now, I know everyone's into vintage these days, so I thought I'd embrace the trend. The bustling markets near Covent Garden offered an absolute treasure trove of hidden gems. I fell head over heels for a glorious vintage sequined top with a soft, salmon pink hue. Imagine it paired with a sparkly pink tutu and…well, let's just say I needed it!

Dinner at The Little Tea Shop

Now, who doesn't love afternoon tea? London is the absolute queen of this British institution, but my pick for the day was The Little Tea Shop just off Covent Garden. They have the most delightful collection of teas – think English breakfast with a splash of Earl Grey and a touch of lemon, oh the deliciousness! Of course, I couldn't resist indulging in a beautiful assortment of finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones, and delicate cakes – perfect for fueling my dance-filled weekend ahead!

A Night of Glittering Elegance

And speaking of dancing…tonight's highlight was the ballet performance at the Royal Opera House. Now, I'm a HUGE ballet fan – there's nothing more inspiring than seeing incredible dancers moving with grace and precision, captivating the audience with their every movement. This evening, it was "Swan Lake", a classic, enchanting story set to the most breathtaking music. Seeing all the elegant tutus swirl around the stage, the music and the beautiful choreography made it the perfect way to end this exhilarating day in London.

More Than Just a Pink Tutu: A Celebration of Style

Yes, I love wearing my pink tutu. It's a little reminder that there's a touch of magic in every day, even amidst the hustle and bustle of London. But more importantly, it represents a joy, a love for self-expression, and a willingness to stand out from the crowd. That's why I started this blog, my little #PinkTutuBlogLondon space – to inspire everyone to embrace their own unique style, to let their true colours shine, and, of course, to maybe, just maybe, even dare to wear a pink tutu!

Where to Find Me Next Week?

Now, don't forget to check back next Friday for another dose of pink-tutu-filled fun on #PinkTutuBlogLondon! I've got my sights set on a little dance party with some fellow tutu-lovers. Can you guess where? I'll leave you with a clue: It's got beautiful parks, a buzzing art scene, and some truly iconic museums. See if you can figure it out!

Until next week, darlings, keep those tutus spinning!
