Pink Tutu Blog London: #1145 - A Tutu-tiful Day in London!
Hello darlings! It's Friday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Blog London adventure! I'm so excited to be back in this magical city, the very heart of style, theatre, and everything pink. And what's even more exciting? It's been a while since my last London escapade! I've been twirling my way across the countryside with my ballet performances, and I've been eagerly waiting for a chance to immerse myself in the electrifying energy of this glorious city once again.
This week, I took a delightful train journey down from Derbyshire – there's something so charming about watching the countryside blur past as you settle into a comfortable carriage. I adore the whole ritual of train travel; the platform bustle, the clinking of cups and plates in the cafe trolley, the rhythmic clatter as we pick up speed.
This time, I opted for a vibrant coral pink dress with my trusty tutu - naturally! – and a white lace bolero, making sure I was the picture of ballerina chic. It just felt appropriate for a day exploring London, don't you think? After all, every day is an opportunity to embrace a little bit of magic and sprinkle some fairy dust around.
Now, onto the exciting part - today’s London adventures! First stop: the London Coliseum. Today's date, 10th August, was a very special one for London's theatrical scene – the highly-anticipated launch of the brand new musical "Moulin Rouge!" at the London Coliseum! Oh, darling, the excitement was palpable as we waited for the curtain to rise, everyone buzzing with anticipation. I, of course, couldn't resist sporting my "Pink Tutu Blog" badge with pride! (I'm still giggling about how many smiles and compliments I received from fellow theatre-goers.)
“Moulin Rouge!" was an absolute feast for the senses - a vibrant, joyous spectacle of song, dance, and love! The costumes were dazzling, the set design was spectacular, and the performances were simply breathtaking! You know how I love a good show, especially one that involves music and dancing, but this one truly had my heart singing. The energy, the passion, the stories they told – it was all so beautiful!
Following the musical extravaganza, I took a leisurely stroll towards the grand West End. I absolutely adore those iconic red buses - such a quintessentially London sight. This part of the city is a true kaleidoscope of colours, from the dazzling lights of Piccadilly Circus to the historic splendour of Trafalgar Square. Everywhere you look there's something new to discover – a hidden alleyway, a captivating street performer, or a fascinating shop window.
Of course, a trip to London wouldn't be complete without some indulging in a spot of retail therapy! My inner ballerina was absolutely thrilled to discover the most darling ballet shoe shop nestled amidst the trendy boutiques of Covent Garden. I couldn’t resist adding a pair of delicate pink pointe shoes to my collection, perfect for all my London pirouettes. And just before leaving, I found the most incredible pink polka-dot tutu, the perfect addition to my already burgeoning tutu collection.
As evening approached, I found myself craving something sweet, so I indulged in a heavenly strawberry-filled pastry from a charming bakery near St. Paul's Cathedral. The bakery had the most gorgeous window display of all sorts of delightful treats, and the aroma wafting out was simply irresistible. It felt like a scene straight out of a fairytale!
And that's a wrap on my whirlwind Friday in London! My Tutu-tiful day in this incredible city filled with laughter, creativity, and a whole lot of pink is truly one I will cherish! And, of course, I'll be back for more London magic very soon. Remember, dear readers, life's too short to be anything but fabulously pink!
