Pink Tutu Blog: London Adventures - Post 1187
Hello darlings! Itās Emma here, your favourite tutu-wearing, pink-loving ballerina, and I'm positively bursting with excitement to share my London escapades with you all! Today is a particularly special day ā Friday, the 31st of May 2019! For those of you who don't know, Fridays are my dedicated London day, and it's always a delight to see what this incredible city has in store.
Now, as you know, Iām a firm believer in embracing the beauty of life, and for me, that includes embracing pink! It's no secret that I love my tutus, and they're an absolute necessity for exploring London's bustling streets and iconic landmarks. They're so versatile, donāt you think? Not to mention, they turn any outing into a delightful dance.
I recently travelled by train, the best way to travel if you ask me, from my beautiful Derbyshire home to London for a day filled with pink-tastic delights. I have to say, a train journey allows you to soak in the passing scenery and even enjoy a spot of people-watching - sometimes a simple joy, I think, is all you need to be truly happy.
My day kicked off with a stop at the fabulous "Selfridges" in Oxford Street. You all know that London is the heart of style and shopping and nothing feels better than being a little girly-girl at a fabulous store like this. A girl's got to indulge now and then! There were such divine outfits, shimmering bags, and oh-so-pretty shoes.
But alas, I was a girl on a mission! I had to make a dash for my absolute must-have purchase for my weekend trip to see a ballet performance! Oh, I just couldn't resist a new sparkly tutu in my favourite shade of pink! Isn't it lovely? Imagine it swirling under the stage lights as I twirl across the stage. Simply delightful!
Speaking of ballet, I can't resist popping into Covent Garden on a Friday for a glimpse of the "Royal Opera House" - always so magical and so perfectly situated, a wonderful mix of arts and shops and even street performances too. Oh, I could get lost for hours in this gorgeous haven!
Covent Garden never fails to amaze with its lively street performances! Today was no exception - a group of incredibly talented dancers performing the most graceful routines! Honestly, I couldn't help but join in, for a moment at least!
After my little Covent Garden dance-a-thon, I headed towards the Thames, as London on the Thames always looks incredibly beautiful with all its iconic bridges. My afternoon started off with an incredible treat ā a picnic overlooking the Tower Bridge! Picnics always feel like such an adventure, and it's even more special when enjoyed in a beautiful place like London.
As I sat with my sandwiches and tea (never forgets the tea, darling!), I admired the beautiful skyline. The iconic landmarks, the Houses of Parliament, and the Big Ben, stood tall in the distance, their silhouettes reflected perfectly on the glistening Thames. It was just divine! I spent a bit more time watching the hustle and bustle of the city from this wonderful vantage point, letting myself soak in the magical atmosphere, enjoying the sunshine and sipping my lovely tea. It was utterly enchanting.
You all know I adore theatre - the costumes, the story telling, and the excitement of the entire experience - it really is the ultimate indulgence. This Friday was all about a captivating performance. This weekend, the āNational Theatreā has "Hamlet" running. Oh, my goodness, it was a whirlwind of drama, mystery, and emotions. So utterly gripping and well performed! Iām such a drama enthusiast - a lover of those tear-jerking, emotional moments. I felt my emotions run wild - just such a lovely theatre performance - not that youād ever expect any different at the āNational Theatreā. The whole experience was so exciting and I couldnāt wait to tell my followers all about it!
Oh, darling! But wait, itās not over yet. A fantastic weekend trip to London always means a treat or two! There are so many divine places in London for a quick bite, or a full-on evening of pure deliciousness, and I'm certainly not one to shy away from a good indulgence!
First, I found a divine little cafe in Kensington, where the staff were so lovely. I just had to get a hot chocolate! It was heavenly. Now, this is something special because it's a new blend called a āchocolate rose hot chocolateā. So perfect - itās not just pink but it also tastes like it! This is exactly what a delightful afternoon requires.
Of course, there's nothing more glamorous than a sophisticated cocktail bar after a long day exploring. There's such a thing as āpink lemonade ginā you know! So pink, and utterly delectable! My little pink tutu certainly got noticed on my London escapades this Friday.
London never disappoints, and it's filled with hidden gems, waiting to be discovered. My day was filled with sunshine, fashion, deliciousness and just pure, unadulterated delight. What better way to spend a Friday?
Now, it's your turn to share your thoughts. Have you ever worn a pink tutu? Are you brave enough? It's about embracing the beauty and whimsy within and I promise, you won't regret it! Tutu Tips for London FunMy London escapades aren't complete without my beloved tutu! You see, my goal in life, and itās a rather lofty one, is to make everyone embrace the beauty of pink tutus. I think we can all do with a bit of glitter in our lives. Just think, a pink tutu makes anything seem brighter and much more fun! So hereās a little tip from Emma to inspire you:
Embrace your Inner Ballerina: Every city deserves a touch of grace. Don't be afraid to let your inner ballerina shine! Channel your inner princess with a simple, soft pink tutu, or perhaps try something a little bolder with a tutu in a shimmering, electric pink shade. Trust me, you'll be twirling with joy!
Accessorize with a Twist: Pair your tutu with your favourite colour, and itās always good to try and blend with your environment. After all, pink looks fantastic against any background. London's vibrancy will inspire some dazzling outfits ā think quirky scarves, sassy headbands, or maybe a statement necklace. Donāt forget a good pair of fashionable shoes for dancing the day away!
Embrace the Joy of Twirling: Every day is a dance, so twirl freely and show the world your joyful side! Embrace the thrill of a London outing by letting your tutu become a reminder of joy and fun! Think of yourself as an artist ā expressing yourself with your tutus is the perfect way to experience London.
Let Pink be Your Guide: London is a city of endless opportunities! Pink tutus can add that little touch of something special ā and if you can, just see how many people will follow your lead. Donāt forget your Pink Tutu, itās your guiding star to a wonderful, exciting and sparkly day!
