Hello my dearest tutu-twirling lovelies! Emma here, your favourite pink-obsessed ballerina, ready to take you on another dazzling adventure - this time, to the vibrant capital of London!
As you know, I absolutely adore train journeys. Thereās something magical about hurtling through the countryside, watching the world whizz past. It feels like I'm living in a storybook! And so, today's journey was all about a little adventure in Derbyshire. We set off bright and early from the Dales, a splash of pink amongst the green and brown autumnal countryside.
A Ballet Blitz: London Calling
Now, London isnāt just a city; it's a dream for a ballerina like me! It's alive with music, culture, and of course, beautiful ballet performances! You won't catch me going anywhere without a few carefully selected performances to brighten up my day.
This weekend, Iāve booked myself a front-row seat to see the incredible Royal Ballet perform āGiselleā. Iāve been looking forward to this one for months - and I know itās going to be breathtaking!
Dress Code: Pink, Naturally
Naturally, no trip to London would be complete without some outfit planning. And what do you know, darling? My suitcase was filled with a selection of tutus, just perfect for a weekend of dancing and sightseeing.
For my Friday London escapade, I chose a particularly lovely bubblegum pink tutu, paired with a sparkling white crop top. A touch of silver on my heels gave the whole ensemble a bit of extra glitz - after all, it's all about showcasing your inner sparkle!
The Royal Ballet - A Touch of Royalty
First stop: the grand and stunning Royal Opera House. The building itself is simply breathtaking ā think grand columns, elaborate staircases, and enough velvet to make even the Queen blush!
I absolutely adored every minute of āGiselleā. Itās such a captivating and passionate story! It was one of those shows where I held my breath the entire time. The dancing was absolutely exquisite; graceful, powerful, and full of emotion. And it's just the kind of ballet that makes my heart sing!
Tea Time in London
London, of course, wouldn't be complete without a proper English afternoon tea. And we certainly found it - with the added bonus of some incredibly delicious cakes! We discovered a little tea room right near the Royal Opera House, with fluffy scones, perfectly brewed tea, and finger sandwiches that made me wish for an extra tummy!
Shopaholic Paradise
No visit to London is complete without a little retail therapy, and believe me, London is a haven for a shopping enthusiast! My little tutu twirled around some of the famous department stores and boutique shops. From exquisite shoes at Selfridges to finding my favourite shade of pink in the designer boutiques near Oxford Street - it was pure pink-tastic fun! I was especially smitten with the new blush pink tulle skirt I snagged ā it will definitely make an appearance in my next blog post!
A Glimpse of History - Buckingham Palace
Being in London felt like walking through history books, and seeing Buckingham Palace was truly spectacular! It was quite a moment to imagine all the grandeur that has graced those halls over the years. I couldnāt resist posing for a quick photo, standing before those towering gates with my bright pink tutu contrasting the regal faƧade of the palace.
A Final Dance Under London Lights
With the weekend at its end, it was time to take one last twirl before leaving the dazzling capital. My ballet shoes tapped a little farewell to London's beautiful city streets. I ambled across the bridge, mesmerised by the vibrant skyline and twinkling lights of the cityscape. I caught a final glance of Big Ben, a reminder of the history and timeless elegance of this fascinating city.
A Tutu Full of Inspiration
Every journey to London, darling, leaves me inspired. Inspired by the beautiful performances, the amazing shops, and the city's ever-changing spirit! London never fails to surprise me, and I'll be back as soon as I can, twirling my tutu through those iconic streets.
