Hello my darling tutus! 🩰 Emma here, and I'm positively bouncing with excitement as I arrive in London by train! Oh, I just adore train journeys. The gentle sway, the view rushing by, the thrill of reaching a new destination…it all feels so perfectly fairytale.
Today, however, the excitement isn’t just about the journey itself. I’m here for a whirlwind weekend in London, ready to embrace the magic of the city and, of course, to indulge in a spot of shopping!
A Ballet Ballerina's Paradise:
My trip to London is funded, as usual, by my much-loved ballet performances. This week, I danced a solo in Sleeping Beauty at the Derbyshire Theatre. It was a joyous, twirling spectacle, and the audience’s applause fuelled my London dreams!
Speaking of dreams, have you seen the programme at the Royal Opera House this season? I’m particularly excited about their new production of La Sylphide with its haunting melodies and breathtaking choreography. It’s sure to inspire a few pirouettes in my own little pink-hued world.
London on a Pink-Tutu Budget:
Let's be honest, London can be an expensive city, especially if you're a dedicated ballerina on a mission to wear every single pink tutu available. But with a bit of planning and a sprinkle of pink tutu magic, you can have a fabulous time on a budget!
Firstly, my beloved tutu (you know, the one that's become my trademark!) is quite versatile, you know? It makes an instant statement with just about any outfit and helps you feel like the star of the show! Just add a chic jacket, a stylish scarf, and a splash of vibrant pink lipstick and you’re good to go!
Secondly, a train ticket is always a great bargain if you book in advance. I'm a big fan of taking the train for both environmental and budget reasons! And remember, a brisk walk is just as charming and romantic as a long taxi ride.
Fashion, Food, and Fantasy:
This weekend, London is brimming with exciting happenings! I'm determined to experience a bit of everything:
Fashion: You just know that I have my sights set on some glorious pink tutu accessories, perhaps a pair of fluffy pink ballet slippers for those late-night city walks. I also have my eyes peeled for a dazzling pink tulle skirt or a sparkly pink evening gown. I mean, you can't go to London without a pink-tutu-inspired statement outfit!
Food: Speaking of pink, how can I miss out on the pink-themed treats? A pink afternoon tea in one of those beautiful grand hotels with delicate sandwiches and impossibly sweet pastries sounds simply divine. And yes, I’ll be on the hunt for the most vibrant pink ice cream and pink cupcakes too. After all, it's not every day I get to embrace London in a pink tutu, so I have to go all out, don’t I?
Fantasy: Of course, no London adventure is complete without a theatrical extravaganza. The West End is a haven of glittering shows, but I've also heard of some amazing independent theatre companies with unique performances. Imagine a one-woman show with a twist – a modern reimagining of a ballet classic using props, storytelling, and yes, you guessed it, pink tutus! That’s my dream come true!

You know how much I adore encouraging everyone to embrace their inner pink tutu! It's all about feeling joyful, confident, and fabulous, and sharing a little sprinkle of magical pink magic with the world.
