Pink Tutu Blog: London Calling! #PinkTutuBlogLondon #1261
Hello, darling dears! It's Emma here, and oh, how I’ve missed you! This week, I’m whisking you away to the vibrant streets of London, where a whirl of colour, music, and laughter fill the air! I just had to come here. London’s got that special buzz about it, doesn't it? It's always a whirlwind of energy and fashion - the perfect place to spin your way into the weekend, even in a pink tutu!
Train Travel Adventures!
This time, my journey began at the glorious station of Matlock Bath, Derbyshire, surrounded by the beauty of the Peak District. It’s truly the perfect setting to leave behind the everyday and dive into the magical world of London. There's something utterly charming about the train journey, isn't there? I snuggled in my favourite armchair (always with extra legroom!) and devoured the crispiest apple pie with lashings of clotted cream - a must for a good travel companion!
Fashionista at London Victoria Station
The scent of freshly-baked pastries hit me like a welcoming hug as we arrived at London Victoria Station. It’s always an adventure navigating the bustle, a mix of travellers rushing to catch connecting trains and tourists excitedly embarking on their London exploration!
To avoid the hustle and bustle, I headed straight to the gorgeous little café tucked away by Platform 1, with its vintage china and flickering tea lights. There, I sipped on a deliciously fruity Earl Grey tea, taking in the vibrant energy of the station around me. Oh, but there were such amazing hats! One with feathers, a couple with an amazing ribbon, I do love a well-dressed station. I'll have to share some of them with you on the Instagram!
Twirling in Trafalgar Square
And here's the thing about London, it really does capture the imagination! The sheer scale of it all takes your breath away. I'd planned this trip around some rather special theatre productions that were opening this weekend - so excited, I’m just itching to spill the beans, but you’ll have to wait! Before I get lost in theatre talk, let’s take a trip around some of London's gems.
Trafalgar Square was just as magical as I remembered it. The sun was shining (always a plus!), making the majestic National Gallery glitter like a jewel. I couldn’t help but spin a few circles right there, on the central pavement, a graceful tutu-wearing twirl beneath the watchful eye of Nelson. Did anyone see me?! Honestly, the sheer joy of a good twirl in such a setting – it's impossible not to smile. I may be getting a reputation for spinning on unsuspecting tourists' walkways but hey, everyone needs to add a little extra pizazz to their day!
Pink Tutu Shop-til-you-drop!
If there's one thing London does right, it’s shop, shop, shop! After my delightful wander through Trafalgar Square, I had to take myself on a well-deserved retail therapy trip! I found myself at a cute, vintage clothes shop called "Rosewood Threads" with a shop window showcasing the most fabulous collection of silk scarves. It felt like a dream! I couldn’t resist a glorious coral silk one to match my new pink shoes, and, let’s be honest, it's never a bad time to buy more silk scarves, is it?
Lunch at Fortnum & Mason
Every time I visit London, a stop at Fortnum & Mason is non-negotiable. Just imagine the most beautiful building, an elegant cafe, with an ornate tea room to rival a ballroom – and their scones are to die for! After enjoying my delicious afternoon tea, I strolled down Bond Street with a little pink tutu-induced energy. This city is the absolute best when it comes to luxury boutiques – Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton – it really does make my inner ballerina giddy!
Dancing with the Stars: A Trip to the Royal Opera House
The highlight of the day was heading over to Covent Garden, to see "Romeo and Juliet" at the Royal Opera House. It’s no surprise that the London ballet world is simply spectacular! I couldn't be more excited about getting lost in the stories and beautiful dancing. Every performance has that extra special magic, something quite electrifying! But there’s nothing quite like seeing a ballet show with that famous Covent Garden backdrop. This theatre really takes the cake – the plush seats, the glittering chandelier, the incredible detail, it all contributes to that spellbinding theatre experience.
For my ballet outfit, I chose a vibrant pink tulle skirt that was perfect for swirling, matched with a gorgeous black lace top for a touch of drama. And as always, a statement necklace - the kind that catches your eye and twinkles under the stage lights!
A Stroll Down Regent Street
I couldn’t resist a stroll down Regent Street after the ballet. There’s an unbeatable energy at this time of the evening. I saw a busker playing a gorgeous, melancholic melody – he really knew his trade. The scent of autumn leaves filled the air as the sun slowly dipped behind the buildings, painting everything in golden hues.
Pink Tutu Diner Delight at the The Shard
It would be remiss of me to skip a visit to The Shard – a spectacular building with stunning views of London. And dinner at The Shard restaurant had to be done. To the sound of jazz music, we dined under the London night sky in what felt like a glamorous space, like the interior of a sleek spaceship. The food was delicious, I had a divine chicken with creamy mash and seasonal greens. And what an opportunity to spot those incredible buildings with London all lit up for the evening. The shard certainly knows how to celebrate its high standing! It's all so vibrant and colourful. The city really does never sleep!
Weekend in the Capital!
Now that’s all wrapped up for Friday, I'm here in London for the whole weekend, so expect plenty more pink tutu-filled stories from London coming up. It's packed with performances, fun shopping and new food finds, you’ll have to stay tuned to www.pink-tutu.com.
As the iconic London Eye glittered against the night sky, I took a moment to breathe in the air. London had captured me again – and the world felt bright, vibrant, and full of endless possibilities!
Until next week, darling dears!

Keep spinning,
Emma xx
