#PinkTutuBlogLondon - Post #1262: London Calling! (Friday, 2020-11-06)

Hello, my darlings!

This week, I'm whisked away to London for a delightful weekend of twirling, shopping, and taking in the sights of the big smoke!

Now, I know you all know how much I love a train journey - a steaming cuppa, a good book, and a bit of a doze. My journey from Derbyshire started this morning and I arrived in Paddington just in time to pick up the freshest of blooms, a delicate bouquet of blush pink peonies to adorn my hotel room - it wouldn't be a #PinkTutuWeekend without a touch of elegance!

My London Fashion Journey:

Itā€™s the quintessential Friday feeling - London in all its grandeur and vibrancy! My first port of call? Why, a fashion adventure of course! It wouldnā€™t be a trip to London without a bit of retail therapy, and oh my, the wonders awaiting me today are pure fashion heaven.

Stepping out into Oxford Street, my heart beat a little faster. Thereā€™s just something magical about the energy here, a buzz that sets the fashionista in me tingling with anticipation! I began my shopping expedition at my absolute favourite London haunt, a multi-level treasure trove called Liberty - just off the main street. I confess I spent at least an hour wandering around this enchanting department store, swooning over silk scarves and delicate lace frocks. They have such a beautiful collection of accessories too, itā€™s all rather intoxicating. My bank balance may be slightly thinner now, but I did pick up the most amazing feather boa ā€“ perfect for adding a touch of whimsy to my dance routines and oh-so-fabulous to add to my outfits. I just know this feather boa will have a starring role in so many photos over the weekend.

And to complete my look, what better than a new pink tutu?! I found a gorgeous creation at a small boutique near Covent Garden. The skirt is just the right length and the delicate tulle swirls perfectly when I twirl. Yes, I might just have splurged on a pink tutu...but how can you resist such a perfect match? I know I'll be adding it to my wardrobe and flaunting it for the whole world to see! I can't wait to show off my new ā€œLondonā€ tutu, with a splash of glitter to make it even more glamorous.

London by Night:

With my shopping bags brimming and my heart full of London magic, I settled in to watch a stunning performance of ā€œSwan Lakeā€ at the Royal Opera House tonight. Seeing Tchaikovsky's timeless masterpiece performed by such talented dancers was an absolute privilege.

Let me tell you, I couldn't help but channel the spirit of the graceful swans, every twirl, every pirouette ā€“ I could feel their elegance and precision seeping into my own being. I almost felt as if I were on the stage myself!

And for you all, who know my passion for dancing, I felt a strong need to share my love for ballet, so I took myself down to the Royal Opera Houseā€™s gorgeous studio on Floral Street, just after the performance ended. This place buzzes with passion and the spirit of graceful movement - the joy of sharing a passion, and the delight of letting go. It was just so wonderful to lose myself in the graceful steps, with other enthusiastic ballerinas, after an exquisite evening of the highest calibre of classical ballet. The evening wasn't quite over, so I ventured over to the Shaftesbury Theatre in Holborn where ā€œEverybodyā€™s Talking About Jamieā€, a heartwarming musical based on Jamie Campbellā€™s journey of self-discovery and acceptance was showing. What a fabulous, joyous, vibrant musical!

After the show I tucked into a light supper in a little cafe near my hotel. My usual ā€œFriday treatā€ and my ā€œSaturday brunchā€ are musts in my London weekend plan. These two meals are the perfect blend of luxury and local flavour, and I often get up early Saturday just so I can have both. The smell of freshly baked croissants is just too much to resist! And, who can say no to the perfect flat white and a light breakfast before a busy day exploring the city?

Saturday Plans:

My plans for Saturday? Why, a full day of quintessential London exploring, of course! First up, Iā€™m heading to Covent Garden to catch a glimpse of the charming street performers, then I'm going to pop into Shakespeareā€™s Globe and maybe catch a bit of a performance! Later, Iā€™m going to delve into the heart of the Royal Parks to soak up the fresh air and soak in the greenery before finishing my day at the iconic Victoria & Albert Museum, where Iā€™ll spend a couple of hours discovering the treasures of textile art, design, and decorative arts. And who knows? Maybe Iā€™ll be inspired to recreate some new outfits. And of course, after all of that exploring, I'll be winding down my evening with a spot of ā€œAfternoon Teaā€ at the hotel - Iā€™m partial to a good cup of Earl Grey with a delicious scone - maybe Iā€™ll be able to squeeze in a mini ballerina practice during my afternoon tea!

A Weekend Of Delight:

Being here in London has really just reignited that spark in me! Thereā€™s so much inspiration around, every corner has some artistic or cultural gem, every shop offers a chance to find something unique and beautiful, every day offers a chance to embrace new challenges, discover hidden delights, and inspire new creative endeavors.

Hereā€™s the London magic for youā€¦

It doesnā€™t matter if youā€™re here for a whirlwind weekend, a week-long adventure, or a whole yearā€™s experience, I guarantee London will leave a mark on your heart, just as it has done on mine. The vibrancy, the diversity, the energy, the creativity - it just flows through the city. Every little detail, every grand vista, every bustling street has something to offer.

Don't Forget The Tutu!

London is my happy place! I love to dress up in my pink tutu and embrace this fabulous, captivating, cosmopolitan, vibrant city in my own special style! You can, too! Why not step out of your comfort zone, be bold and let the spirit of London inspire you! A pink tutu is a great way to showcase your own sense of individuality, your own spark of whimsy, your own zest for life, just like mine! Itā€™s all about embracing those joyful, elegant moments, twirling with confidence, and dancing your way through life with a smile on your face! And maybe even bringing a little bit of pink tutu magic into the lives of those around you.

So, join me in this weekā€™s journey. * *Let's twirl through London, together, in pink tutus, with all the fashion, shopping, art, theatre, ballet and exquisite experiences this wonderful city has to offer.
