Pink Tutu Blog London: #1281 - Friday Feels in Londontown! 🩰

Hello lovelies! It’s your favourite pink tutu-wearing ballerina, Emma, and I’m bursting with excitement to share all about my latest adventure in the Big Smoke!

This week, I traded in my Derbyshire countryside for a whirlwind journey to the heart of London. My journey began, as it always does, with a jaunty hop aboard a sleek train, my pink tutu swishing with the rhythm of the wheels. Oh, the sheer joy of a train ride, watching the countryside blur past like a kaleidoscope of green and grey. My travel essentials were a must: a stack of classic ballet novels, my trusty tutu bag overflowing with glittery pink accessories, and of course, my favourite lipstick – a bold, vibrant pink, just like my spirit!

Arriving at Kings Cross Station was a sight to behold! That iconic clock, the bustling atmosphere, and the sense of possibilities bubbling just beneath the surface...it's always an invigorating experience. I skipped out onto the pavement, twirling my tutu as I breathed in the city’s magic. Today, I'm exploring the hidden gems of London, finding some fashionable treats, and of course, soaking up the extraordinary ballet scene!

My Friday London Favourites:

1. Stepping into Theatrical Wonder: * My first stop was a matinee performance of the Royal Ballet's breathtaking production of *"Swan Lake" at the Royal Opera House. The sheer artistry, the grace, the raw power...it was simply spellbinding! Watching the ballerinas twirling across the stage, their white tutus shimmering under the spotlight, filled my heart with a love of dance that could never be tamed. The energy of the auditorium, the applause echoing in the cavernous hall, it all just ignited my soul! Afterwards, I strolled through Covent Garden, the cobblestones buzzing with a vibrant energy, where street performers showcased their unique talents. I even found a lovely little cafe tucked away in a quiet corner, where I enjoyed a delectable afternoon tea with finger sandwiches and my all-time favourite, a generous slice of Victoria Sponge! (My Tutu Tip: Be sure to look for the adorable pink polka-dot tablecloths, they just add a touch of whimsy!).

2. Fashion Fun at Liberty: For every ballerina, a dash of elegance is essential, so my next adventure took me to the iconic Liberty department store. This opulent paradise of floral fabrics and vintage vibes had my head spinning with excitement. It's the perfect place to indulge in a little self-care, browse the latest fashion trends, or find the most exquisite fabric for your next DIY tutu project. I especially love the selection of designer handbags, always a delightful temptation.

3. Ballet Boutique Heaven: You simply can’t go to London without experiencing the wonders of its ballet-centric boutiques! One of my favourites, "The Dancing Doll", tucked away in Kensington, is a treasure trove of beautiful ballet-inspired clothing and accessories. This whimsical boutique sells tutus, leotards, shoes, and even a magnificent selection of ballet-themed jewelry, the perfect gift for any ballerina, even a grown-up one like me.

4. London’s Hidden Tutu Treats: I love discovering charming cafes and restaurants tucked away in the charming little streets. This time, I was drawn to a delightful cafe with the sweetest name, "Sugar and Spice". It boasts a charming Victorian aesthetic, complete with dainty china cups and teapots. And it just had to be a Pink Tutu-approved venue! Not only do they have delicious scones and a selection of pink lemonade and sparkling fruit waters, they also offer gorgeous floral-patterned china for all your Insta-worthy shots!

5. Sunset at Primrose Hill: London truly is a city of gorgeous viewpoints! To end my whirlwind London Friday, I caught a ride on the red double-decker bus, a London classic, up to Primrose Hill. As the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the city skyline in warm hues of orange and gold, I realised the perfection of this city.

London truly embodies the magic and enchantment of dreams come true. From the vibrant culture and captivating art, to the sheer joy of dancing in the heart of the city, London embraces it all with open arms. My advice? Let your tutu be your guide! Explore, be curious, be bold, and never shy away from a little pink. Because life, just like ballet, is a dance! Until next week my lovelies, I’ll be waltzing my way back to Derbyshire, and dreaming of my next London adventure!
