#PinkTutuBlogLondon - Post Number 1283: London Calling! (And It's Pink, of Course!)

Good Friday morning, my dearest tutu-loving friends! It's Emma here, back with another adventure, straight from the heart of London town. Today's post is all about exploring this fabulous city, a city that practically whispers "pink tutu" to me with every bustling street corner and towering landmark. I mean, come on, even Big Ben looks fabulous in pink! 😉

As you know, I adore the magic of trains, so I started my journey bright and early this morning, leaving the picturesque hills of Derbyshire for the hum of the capital. There's something utterly thrilling about travelling by train – the whizzing past the scenery, the chatter of fellow travellers, and the delicious anticipation building as you approach your destination. I find it such an inspiring way to start an adventure!

The first stop was a spot of brunch at the cutest little café in my neighbourhood – imagine fluffy pancakes with a dollop of pink frosting and a perfectly brewed latte topped with a pink sugar heart. You know me, always a touch of pink to start the day!

After fueling up, I hopped back on the train to make my way into central London. Honestly, nothing quite beats a ride on the Underground - especially when you're sporting your trusty pink tutu, of course! The city lights, the echoing announcements, the glimpse of a street performer - it's all just so electrifying!

And speaking of electrifying, it's hard to talk about London without mentioning its iconic theatres. I had to pop into the West End - just for a peek, naturally - because my ballerina heart always needs a dose of that stage magic. I just couldn't resist wandering down Shaftesbury Avenue and stopping to admire the vibrant posters and that electric atmosphere, even though I couldn't catch a show this time. My funds are tied up in costumes and performances at the moment - life of a touring ballerina!

You know, it's been said that London is the "fashion capital of the world," and honestly, who am I to argue? This city breathes style from its cobblestones to its rooftop gardens! I took the chance to get lost in the glorious department stores. There were enough pinks, sparkles, and ruffles to satisfy even my biggest girly dreams! (Though I am a tiny bit concerned that I might be exceeding my baggage allowance!)

This time around, I treated myself to a truly magnificent new tutu – the kind with layers of tulle and sequins, designed for swirling and pirouette-ing with abandon. The perfect choice for dancing the day away under the Big Ben! And while we’re talking shopping… the amount of gorgeous vintage clothing shops I stumbled across is mind-boggling. It’s like a whole different world – finding treasures that whispers stories of bygone days! You can imagine, my fingers itched with the desire to find the perfect vintage ballerina skirt…

This adventure isn't just about London’s iconic attractions - it's about the city’s little moments of magic. For instance, the afternoon tea I had with a stunning view of the Houses of Parliament – talk about feeling like a princess! Or finding a tucked away independent bookshop with shelves overflowing with magical stories. (They even had a beautiful first edition of "Alice in Wonderland", which I shamelessly spent an hour gazing at – and maybe took a few pictures for my Instagram. You know how I like to share a little inspiration with you!)

There’s also nothing quite like finding a peaceful green oasis tucked away amidst the busy streets. Imagine the most picture-perfect park filled with daffodils, and then… add a dash of sunshine and a fluffy white cloud that looked just like a giant, pink ballet slipper! It’s moments like these that make me think that London is absolutely full of surprises!

So what’s happening on Friday the 2nd of April? London is alive with the magic of Spring! This week the iconic Chelsea Flower Show is blooming in full splendour! The entire city is overflowing with colourful blossoms and the promise of summer. If you're ever in doubt about finding some inspiration - you know you can find it here! It’s a reminder that beauty can be found everywhere you look!

This trip, though fleeting, left me absolutely buzzing. It reminded me that exploring a new city in a tutu is always a good idea! After all, we only have one life, right? Why not live it in style, full of laughter and joy, a sprinkle of pink and a whole lot of pirouette-ing?

Until next week, remember: life is always better in a pink tutu!

Sending all my love from London (and from my trusty tutu!),

Emma xx
