Pink Tutu Blog: London Calling! #1300 🩰
Hello, darlings! It's your favourite pink-tutu-clad ballerina, Emma, here, and it's Friday, which means it's time for another fabulous London adventure!
This week, I've traded the rolling hills of Derbyshire for the hustle and bustle of London. As usual, I hopped aboard a comfy train (with my tutu carefully packed, of course!) for a morning filled with delightful sights and sounds. The train journey is always a highlight of any trip. It allows me time to soak in the beautiful scenery and indulge in a little people watching, hoping to inspire a few others to don a tutu – you never know! 😊
Arriving in London was like a breath of fresh air, literally! I do love the city's energy. I was off like a shot, with a destination in mind – The Victoria & Albert Museum! The museum was just calling to me, filled with exquisite garments, historic fashion, and inspiring art. It’s one of my absolute favourite places in London, so much to discover, so many outfits to swoon over. This week’s must-see exhibit was ‘Fashioning a Dynasty: 300 years of the Qing’. Wow, the embroidery, the colours – the gowns were truly incredible!
Afterward, I wandered down the cobbled streets to find the perfect afternoon tea spot. A charming little cafe nestled in a quiet corner, it was the perfect setting for a cuppa and some delicate finger sandwiches. Let's face it, every fashionista needs an afternoon tea break – it's not all sequins and tutus, you know!
Evening brought the true excitement - the opening night of 'Sleeping Beauty' at the Royal Opera House. Talk about a dream come true! Every twirl, every pirouette – pure magic. The whole atmosphere was electric, the audience captivated, and I must say, it really made me miss being back in the studio. The excitement in the air was contagious! It just goes to show – the magic of ballet can transform you instantly.
Now, London is simply bursting with fantastic places to go for clothes shopping, so I obviously had to indulge myself a bit! A stop at Liberty, a treasure trove of beautiful fabrics and fashion, was a must. Then it was onto Covent Garden to indulge in the latest fashion trends, searching for some sparkle and something that would perfectly compliment my tutu collection.
This trip to London has been all about living life to the fullest, embracing my inner ballerina, and embracing that love for the colour pink – did I mention my favourite store in London has to be ‘Pink’. It just had to be! 😊
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading all about my London adventure. And as always, remember, don’t be afraid to wear your heart on your sleeve, or, even better, on a pink tutu!
