Hello my lovely Pink Tutu Posse! 👋 It's Friday, and that means one thing - a brand new blog post! This week, I'm buzzing because I'm in London! The capital of cool, the city of dreams, and of course, the city of fantastic ballet.
This time, I decided to leave the trusty car in Derbyshire and embrace the romance of train travel. 🚂 A first-class carriage is truly the best way to soak up the scenery (and the occasional sneaky nap) as you whizz past fields and villages, then into the heart of the bustling metropolis. There's something about the rhythmic clickety-clack of the train wheels on the tracks that makes me feel all twirly and excited, almost as if I'm gliding into London on a cloud of pink tulle!
London - The City of Dance
London is an absolute treasure trove for dancers like me! From the majestic Royal Opera House to the quirky and charming Sadler's Wells, there are venues for every taste and budget. I can spend hours exploring the cobblestone streets around Covent Garden, dreaming of the magical performances happening inside.
Speaking of performances, I just had to see "Swan Lake" at the Royal Opera House this week. 🦢 It was simply breathtaking! The dancers were phenomenal, the costumes were absolutely stunning (there were so many beautiful tutus, you can't even imagine!), and the music, well, let's just say it made my heart soar. It was a night to remember.
But my London adventure wasn't just about ballet (though let's be honest, it always is!) 😜 I spent some time exploring other corners of this fascinating city, from the vibrant colours of Camden Market to the grandeur of Buckingham Palace. There's truly something for everyone in London!
Shopping Adventures and Fashion Finds
Of course, no trip to London would be complete without a little bit of retail therapy! I had to get my pink fix at Liberty London, their vintage selection and quirky aesthetic are truly unique. And speaking of pink, let's be honest, every shop in London has some stunning pink attire on display! I just couldn't resist treating myself to a pair of gorgeous pink ballet shoes with a pearl detail, which of course, went perfectly with my latest tutu find - a blush pink cloud of tulle with delicate sequins!
But beyond my love of all things pink, I am truly in awe of the fashion scene in London. Every street feels like a runway, with such a diverse and dynamic range of styles and personalities. The sheer creativity and self-expression I see here is truly inspiring!
Food Glorious Food
From traditional fish and chips to high-end gastronomy, London's food scene is simply delightful. This time, I decided to treat myself to a high tea at The Ritz, with all its fancy finger sandwiches and delicious pastries. It was absolutely delicious, and the tea was simply divine. You can tell that there's a great deal of care and love put into every single bite!
But for a quick lunch, nothing beats a classic British pie and mash, and for those on a budget, a delicious Indian curry with friends is a wonderful way to soak up the atmosphere in one of the city's many vibrant curry houses.
A Touch of Glamour - Theatre & Shows
London is a true theatre lover's paradise. It's buzzing with musicals, plays, and concerts, offering a chance to be transported into another world through the magic of theatre. I recently saw "Mamma Mia!" and let me tell you, it was a joy to witness! So many amazing voices, infectious music, and just the pure energy that makes you want to jump up and dance along!
Street Style Inspiration
London's street fashion scene is a joy to explore! So many unique personalities come out in their clothes, creating a kaleidoscope of styles that constantly keep me inspired. I saw a stunning dancer gracefully waltzing down the street in a billowing turquoise dress and matching ballerina shoes - true artistry in motion!
And yes, of course, I spotted my fair share of pink tutus! You see them everywhere, from quirky young artists to elegant fashionistas. They truly make the city sparkle, adding a touch of playful whimsy to any ensemble.

Even though I'm on a quest to get everyone wearing pink tutus, I find that it doesn't matter if you wear a pink tutu, a simple skirt, or even a full suit. London's true beauty lies in its celebration of individual style.
