Pink Tutu Blog London: Friday 2021-11-12 - Adventures in the Capital! (Post #1315)
Hello my darlings! Itās Friday, and that means another Pink Tutu Blog London adventure! This week, I'm swapping the rolling hills of Derbyshire for the bustling streets of London, all thanks to a fab ballet performance that paid my train ticket ā can you believe it?! Life as a ballerina is full of surprises, wouldn't you agree?
But before we delve into my London escapades, let's chat fashion. Because it wouldn't be a Pink Tutu Blog post without a dash of sartorial delight. Today I'm channeling Parisian chic with a twist of London grunge. Picture this: a vibrant hot pink tulle tutu (of course!), teamed with a classic black blazer and a vintage beret, adorned with a jaunty feather. To add a touch of whimsy, I'm sporting sparkly, platform ballerina pumps ā oh, the magic of mixing high and low!
Right, with my fashionista fix satisfied, let's hop on the train to London! There's nothing quite like the anticipation of arriving in a new city, and I simply adore the romantic sway of the train carriage as it races through the countryside.
And what's more romantic than London? The cobbled streets, the red double-decker buses, the timeless elegance of Buckingham Palace ā this city always manages to steal my heart.
First on my agenda? Afternoon tea, of course! No London adventure is complete without this quintessentially British experience. Today I'm heading to The Dorchester, a classic hotel known for its exquisite service and traditional elegance. Their tea menu is divine, filled with mouthwatering sandwiches, fluffy scones with lashings of clotted cream and a dazzling selection of finger sandwiches, perfect for a girl on the go like me.
Next, I'm off to explore the heart of Covent Garden, a veritable kaleidoscope of art, fashion and performance. The smell of freshly popped popcorn and street performers fills the air with a festive energy. The street artists are simply amazing! From vibrant paintings to breathtaking sculptures, thereās something to captivate everyoneās artistic spirit. And as for the shops, well, my credit card is quaking! From vintage boutiques to designer emporiums, this street has a fashionista's name written all over it!
Before heading back to the hotel, a detour to see āMoulin Rouge!ā ā a dazzling theatrical spectacle showcasing flamboyant costumes and extraordinary music! My goodness, what an unforgettable performance! Every detail, from the feather boas to the can-can dancers, exuded a sense of vibrant extravagance, making it an experience that will linger in my mind for days to come!
This trip wouldn't be complete without a taste of Londonās culinary scene. Tonight, I'm enjoying a romantic dinner at The Ivy ā a truly iconic restaurant. It's a must-visit for any visitor to London. From the elegant dĆ©cor to the mouthwatering menu, it truly embodies the charm of London's social scene. I simply must try the delicious-sounding lobster ravioli with truffle oil!
And as I savor the last bite of my scrumptious dinner, I can't help but reflect on the wonders of London. The city's vibrancy, its timeless elegance, and its unparalleled beauty captivate me time and time again.
And thatās it for today, darlings! Time for this pink tutu-wearing ballerina to head back to my hotel room for a good nightās rest. I canāt wait to tell you all about my next adventure!
But before you go, let me ask youā¦ whatās your favorite London experience? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
Until next Friday, may your days be filled with joy and sparkles!
Lots of love,
Emma xx
The Friday FeelingWhat a week! Back at home in Derbyshire, the crisp autumn air whips through the trees and the vibrant colours of changing leaves bring a certain magic to my little corner of the world. Itās the kind of day that begs for cosy evenings with hot chocolate and a good book. But even as I soak in the beauty of my peaceful surroundings, I can't help but miss the bustling energy of London.
From the glamorous theatricality of Moulin Rouge to the culinary delights of The Ivy, each moment of my London journey resonated with pure enchantment. Every street, every sight, every sound - it was a tapestry of breathtaking experiences woven together with a dash of fashion and sparkle!
A Fashion FiestaAnd how can I forget the fashion! Londonās streets were like an open-air runway! The chic, stylish people wearing fabulous outfits ā I felt truly inspired! The vibrant red and black colour palette of my London ensemble added a splash of boldness to the classic chic aesthetic. And the sparkling platform ballet shoes? Well, let's just say I turned heads everywhere I went!
Of course, no Pink Tutu Blog is complete without a mention of the Tutu Talk! As always, the Pink Tutu philosophy reigned supreme: "Everyone wears a pink tutu!" Throughout the day, I spotted a surprising amount of tulle and pink in various forms. From the classic ballerina to the more whimsical, casual wear ā Iām excited to see pink tutus increasingly incorporated into streetwear and contemporary styles!
And now, with the aroma of fresh coffee and a slice of homemade raspberry cake tempting me, I think itās time to slip back into the peace and quiet of my Derbyshire life. Next Friday, Iāll be back with more London stories!
And with a final swirl of my pink tutu, Iām signing off!
