Pink Tutu Blog London: Post #1318 – A Whirlwind Friday in the Capital! 🩰👑

Hello my dearest tutu-loving darlings! It’s Friday, and that means it’s time for another Pink Tutu Blog London adventure! This week I’m buzzing from a fab trip to the capital, all made possible by another successful performance (oh, the joys of being a professional ballerina!). The train journey from Derbyshire is always a highlight – comfy seats, great views, and the perfect opportunity to unleash my inner fashionista! This week, I’m rocking my new blush pink knitted jumper with a hint of sparkly detailing, topped off with a playful, layered tutu in softest pink chiffon. A little bit of sparkle for a big day in the big city!

Now, onto the London loveliness! I landed in Kings Cross station with enough energy to power a full ballet class (and then some!), and straight away, the buzz of the city wrapped around me like a warm embrace. My first stop? A pit stop for tea, naturally! The scent of freshly brewed English breakfast tea hit me as I stepped into a cosy cafe just a stone's throw from the station. You know me, I couldn’t resist a pink porcelain cup! ☕️

After a quick refill of my energy levels, it was time to embrace my inner theatre buff! I’m always up for a good show, and today's choice was a spectacular one. The Royal Opera House is my favourite spot in London, and this weekend they're putting on a mesmerising production of “Swan Lake”. I’ve seen it a dozen times, but the magic never fades! Each delicate movement, each heartfelt note, and the shimmering costumes were all truly breathtaking.

After the performance, it was time to find my favourite fashion spot. London's teeming with fashion gems, but the V&A Museum never fails to inspire me! I spent hours marvelling at the beautiful designs from decades past, each outfit a masterpiece. My ultimate highlight was the "Fashion in Motion" exhibit – a collection of vibrant designs that seemed to dance right before my eyes. My creative wheels were spinning with ideas for my next performance costumes! 💃

A day in London wouldn’t be complete without some delicious food, would it? I followed my nose to Carnaby Street, where I stumbled upon a quirky, charming little Italian eatery. Pasta al pesto and a glass of sparkling water? Perfection! I’m sure you've guessed by now, it was pink plates. I just can't help myself! 😉

With my tummy full and my creative well brimming over, I ended the evening with a stroll through Hyde Park. The air was crisp, the trees were ablaze in their autumnal hues, and the twinkling lights from the Serpentine Barge were reflecting beautifully on the water. It was the perfect way to reflect on a whirlwind Friday!

And before I leave you all, a little update on my pink tutu campaign! I received a letter from a school in Birmingham today, who have decided to make pink tutus the official uniform for their annual ballet performance. Oh, how thrilled I am! It's one small step closer to my dream of seeing every dancer twirl in a pink tutu!

I’ll be back next Friday with another London adventure! Until then, remember to embrace the colour, keep dancing, and of course, wear your pink tutu with pride! 💗

P.S. Did you know? The first Friday in December is National Wear a Pink Tutu Day (it’s not really a real holiday, but it should be!) So let’s celebrate! Go forth, spread the joy, and embrace the beauty of pink tutus! 💕
