Pink Tutu Blog: London Calling! (Post #1339) π©°
Hello my gorgeous Tutu Twirlers! π It's Friday, and that means it's time for another Pink Tutu Blog, and I'm positively brimming with London loveliness! This week, I traded in my Derbyshire hills for the bustle of the Big Smoke, and trust me, you guys, London never disappoints!
The journey was so delightful. Nothing beats a train journey, particularly when you're feeling super sparkly. I squeezed into my favourite tulle confection - a dusky pink creation with delicate sequin embellishment that positively shimmered in the afternoon sunlight streaming through the train windows. Fellow passengers couldn't help but smile β they know that a pink tutu is always going to bring a touch of joy to the day. π₯°
After a little over two hours, I found myself deposited right in the heart of London's Victoria Station β the sheer size of the place never fails to impress. I always feel a tingle of excitement when I step out of the station. There's something electrifying about this city. Maybe it's the mix of history, culture, and fashion β or maybe it's the endless supply of perfectly delicious cupcakes, but I can't get enough of London!
Speaking of cupcakes, I had to stop at my favourite little bakery in Belgravia for a pink-iced, vanilla dream. They were even more perfect than usual today, maybe it was the sheer thrill of being in London. After my sugary fix, it was time to start exploring!
First up, it was a trip to Covent Garden. This place never fails to be buzzing. I loved watching street performers showing off their amazing talent, from the fire-breather with hair the colour of my latest pink tutu (coral, with shimmering silver embroidery!), to the guy juggling oranges like they were feathers!
I stopped to have a look around the market stalls. So many interesting things β jewellery, homewares, handmade pottery. But of course, I couldnβt leave without browsing the fashion boutiques. A couple of new tops and a gorgeous pink silk scarf (that matched my nails perfectly, you know how much I love matching!) landed in my shopping bag. I'm so pleased! I canβt wait to share all my finds on my social media later β follow me at @pinktutu_emma for the latest fashion inspo! π
The rest of the day was dedicated to all things ballet. You see, this Friday is the last day of the Royal Ballet's 'Romeo & Juliet' production at the Royal Opera House. I'd heard amazing things, and I wasn't going to miss out! I made sure I was at the theatre for the afternoon performance, looking spectacular, of course, in a beautiful blush pink tutu with a black velvet sash. You know, Iβm always in awe of the ballerinas' talent. It takes such strength and grace to move so beautifully. I tried not to get too envious of those incredible jumps! π©°
My Friday ended with a perfect finale at the London Ballet School. I had a class in the evening - it was such a joy to be surrounded by like-minded dancers, all sharing our love for this graceful art form.
Of course, no London trip would be complete without a quintessential afternoon tea. I had to find somewhere truly special, and I discovered a gem in Marylebone β The Wallace Collection. It's housed in an opulent mansion, with stunning interior design that was almost as eye-catching as my sparkly pink tutu! The tea was delightful - tiny sandwiches, scrumptious pastries, and delicate finger cakes, all accompanied by a selection of premium teas, from Earl Grey to rose-infused jasmine. This experience made me want to waltz around the room, but I decided that might be a bit much, even for a pink tutu girl! π
Now, I know what you're thinking, "Emma, how on earth do you afford to do all these amazing things?". Well, the secret's out β Iβm not just a ballerina. I also have a career! π€« Between my ballet performances and workshops, I manage to fund my travels. Of course, it's not always easy, but there's nothing like a trip to a magnificent city to reignite the passion!
So, my dearest Tutu Twirlers, until next week's blog, remember to embrace your inner sparkle and go out and spread some pink-tutu joy wherever you are. Because life's too short for boring outfits! πΈ
Sending lots of love and twirls,
Emma xx
P.S. Be sure to check out the highlights of my day on Instagram, especially the pink cupcake and my beautiful ballet outfit β they're truly delightful! π
