Pink Tutu Blog: London Calling! (Post #1340)

Hello darlings! It's Friday, the sun is shining, and I'm finally back in London!

This week's Pink Tutu adventures are all about exploring the capital, fuelled by my love of ballet, a good old fashioned fashion fix, and, of course, my favourite colour - pink!

As always, Iā€™ve got a new tutu for this London escapade. This time, itā€™s a gorgeous candy floss pink, the perfect colour for a spring day in the city. It's a twirly number, a perfect shade of pink that I picked up at a vintage shop back in Derbyshire - a steal, if you ask me!

I travelled to London by train this time - I love taking the train. I donā€™t think anything beats sitting by the window, watching the countryside zoom by, the feeling of the sun on my face and the anticipation for the adventures that await me in the Big Smoke. The rhythmic click-clack of the wheels on the tracks always inspires me, and by the time I get to London I'm already twirling with excitement.

I have to admit, I was feeling a bit giddy arriving in Kings Cross. You know that magical feeling you get when you step out of the train and are suddenly immersed in a city pulsating with life? I could just picture myself dancing across the platforms in my pink tutu, but, thankfully, my inner child kept the tutu-twirling confined to the station bathrooms!

But let's be honest, you know my biggest joy isā€¦ BALLET!

On Friday evening, I'm off to see "Swan Lake" at the Royal Opera House, and let me tell you, I am beyond excited. I saw a brilliant review in The Stage yesterday and the Royal Ballet dancers always deliver breathtaking performances, especially with the intricate costumes and incredible scenery in "Swan Lake". I love the juxtaposition between the delicate, ethereal elegance of the White Swan and the powerful drama of the Black Swan. Just the thought of the final Act is sending shivers down my spine, especially those iconic, emotional pas de deux!

But first, I need to make sure I'm prepped and perfect for my night at the Opera House.

The Fashion Fix

Now, I know what youā€™re thinking: shopping. I always say, what's a ballet-themed London escapade without a bit of fashion therapy, right? My favourite place to go for a classic yet fashionable outfit for the theatre is Liberty's, just around the corner from my little Airbnb. Liberty's has everything, darling. Itā€™s a fashion lover's paradise with beautiful designer brands and incredible boutiques that are packed with beautiful fabrics and patterns. It's not your typical high street, darling, it's a feast for the senses - all textures and colors and textures - almost enough to make you faint, and then there's that gorgeous Art Nouveau buildingā€¦ If thereā€™s ever a day I'm not in pink, I can almost guarantee I'm wearing some beautiful, colorful piece I picked up in Liberty's!

Of course, you all know Iā€™m partial to pink, so naturally, I picked out a stunningly soft pink silk blouse for my date with "Swan Lake". A blouse from Liberty's will definitely get me some looks at the Royal Opera House, even with a stunningly powerful ballerina dancing in front of me!

My evening outfit is almost complete but I need a showstopper for my feet, after all, a ballerina always has to get the finishing touches right. It wouldnā€™t be a London Friday without popping into a hidden gem on Regent Street called ā€œCinderella Shoesā€. It's got the best range of dance shoes you could imagine. This time, I went for a classic silver court shoe. A sleek, simple design in silver is so versatile, but letā€™s face it, any occasion needs some sparkle. I'll add my own sparkle to the look with a statement pink silk scarf around my neck.

Speaking of Regent Street, thereā€™s a new Pink Champagne Boutique I wanted to check out. It's got such a gorgeous pink facade, how could I resist?!

After all the dancing and the shopping, I know just where I want to end the day:

Let's Grab a Bite

My Friday isn't complete without a delicious dinner at The Ivy, a staple of Covent Garden. Nothing beats watching the crowds stroll by while I indulge in my favourite dish, the roast salmon. It's absolutely divine! It's my ā€œend-of-the-week, well-deservedā€ meal, a beautiful place, an amazing meal and a chance to soak up the energy of the city!

I might even stop by the market and try a few new pink macarons from one of the little shops. I'm not sure what flavour yet, but the options will certainly make my mouth water. They are just the cutest little things. So delicate and delicate in texture, yet incredibly flavourful. My weakness!

This Friday will be full of tutus, beautiful dancing, delightful shopping and decadent desserts!

Remember my lovelies, my life's mission is to get everyone to wear a pink tutu. It's a mission that drives me to discover and explore new things, especially beautiful places like London.

I love sharing my adventures with you! See you next Friday for another round of pink tutu escapades, wherever that may take me!
