Pink Tutu Blog London: #1353 Friday 2022-08-05: Exploring the City in My Tutu!
Hello, darlings! It’s Emma here, and I’m back with a brand-new blog post, straight from the heart of London! As you know, every Friday, I share my adventures with you, and this week, I’m buzzing to tell you all about my fabulous London day out.
London, you beautiful city! There's a magic in the air here that just pulls me in. I’ve been dreaming of a London trip for ages, and with my recent success in ballet, I was lucky enough to nab a few exciting performance gigs in the capital. That meant a cheeky trip to London town, and naturally, I packed my very best pink tutu for the occasion!
I'm a Derbyshire girl at heart, so I boarded the train bright and early this morning, tutu already twirling with excitement! My love for trains knows no bounds – the chugging, the windows whizzing by, and that charming scent of freshly-baked goods – it's all so romantic.
London’s Got Style!
Arriving at King's Cross, I couldn’t help but feel a flutter of excitement. I grabbed a coffee from a cute little cafe and savored every sip as I gazed at the bustling crowds around me. London has such an amazing buzz!
First on my itinerary: Shopping! My inner fashionista simply had to make a beeline for Oxford Street. The shops were all beautifully decked out for summer with bright colours, playful prints, and lots of eye-catching window displays.
Now, if you know me, you know I have a bit of a soft spot for pretty things, especially those with a dash of pink. My shopping spree took me to the very heart of my style universe. It’s safe to say, I came home with enough treats to last a lifetime, including a delicate silk scarf adorned with little dancing ballerinas! (I can’t resist a little nod to my beloved ballet world.)
Ballet and Culture
My afternoon was dedicated to my passion, the very reason I embarked on this trip – the magic of ballet! There's a particular joy that comes with watching dancers twirling on the stage, with their passion and artistry truly shining. It was pure bliss to catch a performance by the National Ballet, a world-class experience I won’t soon forget. Their grace and talent truly inspired me! I could have spent hours in that grand theatre, losing myself in the music, the movement, and the incredible talent of the performers. I’ve always believed ballet should be accessible to everyone. That’s why I’ve set out to bring it to the people – even on the streets of London. You might see me gracefully twirling past the Houses of Parliament with my pink tutu – I’ve got my sights set on making London my personal ballet stage!
The evening brought the perfect blend of art and London history with a visit to The Tate Modern. It’s the kind of gallery where you can really get lost in your imagination. The collection was truly incredible – abstract sculptures, bold colour splashes, and contemporary installations that made me think, ponder, and feel! My absolute favourite piece? A massive, shimmering canvas - perfect for reflecting on the sparkling city life outside the gallery walls. It was a moment of inspiration and awe.
The Tutu Continues to Fly!
Back on the train, gazing at the beautiful London skyline as it zipped by, I knew I’d made the perfect choice for my Friday adventure. The city's energy is contagious. Even after a full day of tutus, performances, and a shopping spree, I feel so refreshed and invigorated. This experience was all about embracing that joyous spirit.
So, remember this – whether it's a twirling trip to London or simply enjoying your everyday life, wear that pink tutu proudly. Let your love of dance shine bright, even if it’s a tiny spark. It's those moments of joyful expression, the times we choose to dance our hearts out, that make life a masterpiece!

See you next Friday, lovelies!
