Pink Tutu Blog: London Adventures - #1370
Friday, 2nd December 2022
Hello darlings! It's Friday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Blog adventure! This week I'm taking you with me on my latest escapade - London, the city that never sleeps!
Oh, how I love a good train journey! I was up bright and early in Derbyshire, a cup of strong English breakfast tea in hand and the anticipation of another city adventure fizzing through me like the bubbles in my bath! I love slipping into my comfy seat, with a good book and a sparkly magazine, the world zipping past like a colourful filmstrip. The journey to London is always such a delight – I watch the countryside fade into the bustling cityscape, with its soaring towers and hidden nooks. Today, my darling Pink Tutu, I'm ready for the Big Smoke to work its magic on my heart.
Speaking of my pink tutu… Oh, darling, it just wouldn't do to be in London without it! This week I’ve opted for a fluffy, marshmallow pink tutu that's just calling out for a London adventure. It's perfectly complemented by my sparkling pink jacket and adorable, fluffy pink boots. It's all about keeping it sweet and fun, my darlings, but with a touch of that London edge.
First stop – The London Eye
Right after arriving in London and throwing myself into the city's energetic heart, I decided to get my bearings - literally! My first stop was the London Eye. I knew the views from up there were sensational and they were! What an amazing panorama, I gasped as I peered across the city from high up, like a little ballerina perched on a giant cake stand. The River Thames snaked through the centre of the city, reflecting the sunshine like a shimmering ribbon, and all around us, the city stretched out – its iconic buildings standing tall like storybook castles. It’s such a magnificent feeling looking at London like that – I really felt on top of the world! And let's be honest, what's a London trip without that must-have photo with Big Ben peeking behind?
Exploring Covent Garden
After the eye-opening experience of the London Eye, I made my way to Covent Garden – a wonderland of delights! Every shop window had me gasping in delight – quirky boutiques overflowing with charming treasures, chic coffee shops steaming with tempting aromas, and, my personal favourite, a little corner shop overflowing with an irresistible selection of ballet tutus! I had to snatch up a shimmering silver one for my collection! It was love at first sight!
The heart of Covent Garden throbbed with live music. Street performers brought joy to every corner - a mesmerizing juggling act, a charming violinist with her golden bow, and even a talented ballet dancer with leaps that made my tutu heart flutter. Everywhere you turned in Covent Garden, there was magic in the air, music in the heart, and pure joy in the eyes of everyone around! It truly is one of the most special places in London.
London Ballet Dreams
No visit to London is complete without a ballet performance. My London trip would not be a proper adventure without taking in a captivating ballet performance, something I always save up for with all my heart. I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunities to dance and for the love I have for the magic of performance that lets me live a tutu-tastic lifestyle!
This week I was incredibly lucky to see The Nutcracker at The Royal Opera House. Oh, darling, it was divine! The beauty of the dancing and the captivating storyline made me feel like I had been whisked away to another world - a world filled with waltzing snowflakes, daring princes, and a mischievous rat king. The costumes were utterly glorious, especially the sugarplum fairy's shimmering pink gown! Every scene brought a smile to my face – a genuine, true, pinky-pink grin that reached from ear to ear.
As the lights came up at the end of the performance, my heart felt full to bursting. Seeing such stunning talent, witnessing the power and grace of classical ballet – that feeling simply can't be put into words. The excitement and magic of seeing live performance is something I’ll never tire of.
London Food & Fashion Fun
The joy of London doesn’t stop at the theatre and art. The fashion scene here is like a constant fashion show - it's full of colour, creativity, and bold individuality! That's why my darling Pink Tutu and I had to pay a visit to Liberty's! It’s the perfect place to be enveloped in exquisite beauty and decadent luxury. A beautiful blend of the past and the present - the vibrant history woven into every corner, a vintage chic ambience with the latest fashions from across the globe. Walking through those iconic doors feels like stepping into a time capsule of style and elegance - something every Pink Tutu follower will adore!
Of course, no London trip is complete without the perfect afternoon tea. I'm a bit of a tea snob - nothing makes me happier than a perfectly brewed cuppa with finger sandwiches and scones - it's pure, elegant delight. Today, my Pink Tutu and I settled into a cosy cafe, watching the world go by as we enjoyed our delicious feast.
London, you never cease to amaze me with your endless treasures, dazzling lights, and enchanting energy! I’m already counting down the days until my next visit.
Until next Friday darlings!
Love,
Emma
