#PinkTutuBlogLondon – Friday 2022-12-16 - Exploring London Town 🩰👑

Hello, darlings! It's Friday again, and that means it's time for another #PinkTutuBlogLondon! I'm so excited to be back in the Big Smoke, a city that never fails to enchant and inspire. This week's adventure sees me whizzing down from Derbyshire on the train, my trusty pink suitcase filled with my latest tutu creations – a vintage lace number that’s simply dreamy, perfect for the Christmas season! This trip feels like a special one, because… it’s almost Christmas! Oh, the magic is just around the corner!

And this blog post? It's post number 1372 (I'm not even sure how I’ve managed to reach this number!) – but don't worry, every post is full of tutu-licious fun. Today, we’re off on a spree through London's magical streets, taking in the twinkling Christmas lights, festive window displays, and those utterly delightful Christmas scents that waft through the air, conjuring up a feeling of pure wonder. Let’s get this Friday started, shall we?

Pink Train Tracks, Tutu Dreams

A trip to London always feels like an escape. And nothing gets me more excited than the moment the train leaves the Derbyshire station. It’s like a magical door opens up to the glittering, glamorous city! This time, my fellow passengers seemed equally enthralled – I swear, there were quite a few heads turning my way as I entered the carriage, twirling in my gorgeous new tulle tutu, complete with a soft, shimmering pink ribbon around my waist.

Of course, the journey on the train was full of fun, too. The view outside the window offered stunning wintry scenes - bare branches of trees outlined in white against a clear blue sky, and then there’s that beautiful London skyline… oh, I just love it! I took to the journey as my personal runway, twirling, striking poses, and striking up conversations with other travellers who were just as curious about my pink tutu as I am about theirs. After all, the tutu is more than a garment – it’s a symbol, a call to joy and sparkle, a reminder that the world needs a little more pink!

A London Day of Pink & Sparkle

First things first - a steaming cup of tea, a sausage roll, and then it was time to immerse myself in the capital's dazzling Christmas energy! London during the festive season is something else entirely.

Firstly, I had to take a trip to Regent Street - home to some of London's most incredible shop window displays. Now, there’s a certain competitive edge amongst retailers in the festive season - they really go all out to win hearts (and spending money!) and there’s nothing I love more than strolling around, marveling at their creativity and artistry. I mean, have you ever seen those giant, animated reindeer at Liberty? Just divine! It truly felt like I had walked straight into a Christmas storybook.

And I simply couldn't resist stepping inside Fortnum & Mason, a London icon and my absolute favourite department store for finding gorgeous Christmas presents. The scent of festive treats hung thick in the air, mingling with the smell of polished wood and elegant perfumes. I made my way through the grand halls, mesmerized by the intricate decorations, glittering chandeliers, and, of course, those beautiful, exquisite gifts! You just can't help but be transported back in time.

Of course, no London adventure is complete without a trip to Covent Garden - the ultimate melting pot of street performances, musicians, and of course, the delicious aroma of roasted chestnuts.

And while I was strolling past the stalls selling artisan crafts, I came across an exciting, new pop-up dance class being held right there in the heart of Covent Garden. Oh, you know I couldn't resist the temptation to join in! So, I put on my ballerina shoes (always travel with my dance bag, my dear, you never know what awaits) and started moving.

The class was fantastic - we moved to Christmas jingles, learning simple ballet steps amidst a symphony of joyful carols!

Christmas Delights - Food and Fashion

After all that dancing, it was time to refuel with a truly divine London Christmas treat. You can't possibly go to London without experiencing the sheer delight of afternoon tea. I chose to enjoy mine at the gorgeous Ritz - talk about quintessential London glamour! The tea was delicious (with my favourite pinky-pink Earl Grey, of course), and I simply adored those delicate finger sandwiches, fluffy scones, and pastries. It was the perfect afternoon delight – pure bliss in a very elegant setting.

But London also has its fun, quirkier side – a hidden side! And there was one cafe I had been wanting to try ever since I found it online: Pink and Sparkle. The perfect name, isn't it? It's a pastel-coloured oasis in a trendy neighborhood that lives up to its name. They have an impressive pink menu that just screamed out for a ballerina's attention. I'm not gonna lie, I ordered the "Pink Tutu Delight", a pink milkshake topped with marshmallows and pink sprinkles. They even put a delicate pink rose on top, just for me! (Oh, and of course, the decor was spot on - lots of soft pinks and sparkly lights everywhere). The perfect end to an already incredible London day.

And speaking of sparkle – I can’t end this post without a trip to London's most glitzy street – Oxford Street! It’s a shopaholic’s paradise – and what's better than strolling through all those fantastic window displays, and seeing what gorgeous new trends and sparkly items I can find. I treated myself to some gorgeous new pink accessories to add to my ballerina collection, a beautiful pink silk scarf that is already being featured in several outfit inspiration photos, and even a new pink top! I just love how the pink highlights the vibrancy and festive spirit of Christmas in London!

London, Always Calling

I may be on a mission to make the world embrace pink, but I confess I love the unique energy that London provides - and its charming, chaotic energy during the holidays! The laughter of children singing carols, the lights that make even the greyest days feel festive, and the delicious food - every moment made me fall a little deeper in love with this fantastic city.

The streets of London are filled with incredible stories. It's an extraordinary melting pot of history, culture, and artistry – I feel so blessed to be able to explore this wonderful place again. And what’s even better is that I’ll be back very soon, exploring more of what this city has to offer in 2023.

This Friday, I’m dreaming of all the fun to come! So much love from London to all you lovely readers.

Until next time!

Lots of Love,

Emma xx
