#PinkTutuBlogLondon: Friday 2023-04-14 - Tutu-ing Around Town! 🩰🌸
Hello, my gorgeous tutu-loving darlings! Emma here, and this is #PinkTutuBlogLondon, post number 1389! Welcome to my weekly dose of pink, fluff, and London loveliness. This Friday, I’m buzzing from a train journey from Derbyshire (my home!), and I'm ready to conquer the capital in all its pink glory!
As you know, I'm fuelled by passion for all things ballet – from those dazzling performances to those delightful ballet classes. That passion is also my magic ticket to travel! This week, my funds are boosted by my performances in "The Nutcracker" at the Derby Theatre. Every pirouette, every grand jeté, earns me a precious step closer to my London dream – and I'm living it up in the most fabulous way possible!
Today's outfit? It's my favourite combination of comfort and glamour. Imagine, if you will, a vibrant, hot pink tutu (the more tulle the better!) with a classic black lace top, my trusty ballet flats for comfortable exploring, and a touch of playful glitter! 🌸🩰
London on a Friday Feeling
Today, the energy is electric! There’s a buzz in the air, a hint of spring in the wind, and a happy pink glow lighting up the city!
The day started at London King's Cross, which is, in itself, a wonderful place for people-watching. From those sleek, modern commuters to those with quirky vintage style, there's a delicious mix of characters! It was like watching a scene from a West End play – but, honestly, I'm so used to the energy of the theatre that most days just feel like the stage!
A Tute-astic Lunch at The Ivy Chelsea Garden
My first stop was The Ivy Chelsea Garden for lunch. Now, darling, this place is pure perfection. The outdoor seating is drenched in pink blossoms, the food is simply delicious, and the service is beyond impeccable! It was the perfect setting to chat with my dear friend, Sophie, who just got back from Paris, so she was full of travel stories! We had the most gorgeous salad with avocado and pink grapefruit, and my signature London staple - afternoon tea, of course, complete with clotted cream and the tastiest scones you could ever imagine.
Finding Fashion Inspiration on Oxford Street
After lunch, it was off to the ever-bustling Oxford Street! A pink tutu is definitely a conversation starter in this whirlwind of fashion, you know! People love the bright contrast and it makes the whole atmosphere even more vibrant.
Honestly, I could spend days wandering the shops and finding all the gorgeous trinkets. The thing about shopping in London, is that you never know what treasure you might discover - you can be browsing the rails and then suddenly stumble across the most exquisite handmade accessories or the perfect vintage purse. Today, my haul was a pair of gorgeous ballet flats in a shimmering lilac that reminded me of my favourite ballet slippers, a delicate floral scarf that will be perfect with a spring cardigan, and a clutch bag that perfectly matched the shade of my tutu! The shops were a little like the stages of a giant, glamorous, never-ending ballet performance, where the newest fashions are on display!
An Evening of Thrilling Theatre!
This evening, it was time for some more "on stage" magic – I was excited for tonight's performance: The Lion King! Now, we all know The Lion King is absolutely breathtaking. The costumes are amazing, the music is unforgettable, and those dancing puppets... they're simply magical. Every show I see makes me feel that much closer to realizing my ultimate ballet dream: To have a career on the stage like those in the West End. And let me tell you, darling, watching "The Lion King" was nothing short of inspiring! I came away with a newfound passion, a sprinkle of magic in my soul, and the energy to practice like crazy until I get my chance to dance in a performance just as breathtaking!
London, you make me feel alive!
Even though I love my quaint little life in Derbyshire, London is my creative heart, you know? It's full of magic, fashion, and of course, the chance to wear a pink tutu with pride, as I proudly dance through life, one pirouette at a time! This weekend, I am returning to my ballet classes in Derbyshire with a refreshed soul and a wardrobe bursting with London love. Until next Friday, darling, keep spinning and twirling!
And always remember... life is best in a pink tutu!
Lots of Love, Emma xx
P.S. Have you seen the new movie, "Barbie"? I loved it and felt all my inner-tutu-loving energy bursting! Have you seen it yet? Tell me your favourite pink things!
