Hello darlings! It's Emma, your favourite pink tutu-wearing blogger, back from a whirlwind day exploring the glorious city of London.
This week's trip to the Big Smoke was a particularly special one. I caught a train from Derbyshire on a Thursday evening, the carriage packed full of people with excited smiles and weekend vibes. As always, I felt so grateful to be surrounded by such good energy.
I woke up on Friday in a beautiful little hotel just a short hop from Paddington station - oh, the magic of the Tube! - and my day started off with a twirl. Yep, you read that right. A twirl! Now, before you think I'm completely bonkers (I know, sometimes I do too), you'll understand when I say it's not just any twirl. It's a pink tutu twirl, and where better to perform it than on the platform of Paddington station?
My fellow passengers looked on, some bewildered, some smiling, some giving a subtle nod of appreciation - a small victory for the pink tutu movement!
First stop? The V&A museum. My goodness, it's just bursting with treasures from every corner of the world! We are talking intricate textiles, exquisite furniture, mesmerising jewellery - pure eye candy for a girl who loves a good frock! You bet I got some serious outfit inspiration. But of course, the highlight for me was the "Fashioning the Body: Dress & Identity" exhibit. It showcased stunning dresses from different periods, each telling a story about who we are and how we want to be perceived through fashion. I even managed to get a couple of stylish snaps with my pink tutu, blending right in amongst all that beautiful clothing!
Later on, after a light lunch of sandwiches and freshly squeezed orange juice, I headed for the Royal Opera House to catch a stunning ballet performance. I just adore ballet - the artistry, the grace, the sheer beauty of it all is just breathtaking! It's such a perfect blend of physicality and artistry that makes my soul sing! As an added bonus, the dancers were absolutely fabulous - the perfect mix of elegance and passion! And you guessed it, I added my pink tutu to the evening's performance - just a little extra sparkle!
The best part? I had the most fantastic time at the Pink Tutu Brunch! Every Friday, a group of fellow pink tutu enthusiasts gather in a cosy café near Covent Garden for a fun-filled, frothy morning. This week's theme was "Flowers and Feathers". I felt like a glamorous bird myself in my feather boa and my beautiful rose-printed pink tutu! The girls were delightful, and we shared laughter, stories, and of course, an endless stream of pink tutu-related inspiration. We chatted about upcoming fashion trends, upcoming performances, and our shared love of all things pink and twirly. I just love this group of amazing ladies!
As the evening began, I decided to indulge my other love: Theatre! A delightful production of "The Importance of Being Earnest" at the National Theatre brought joy, laughter and cleverness - just what a London evening needed. Oh, the wit!
By the end of the day, I was exhausted but full of life and happiness. It's amazing what a little London magic can do to brighten your day!
You know what's fantastic? Seeing my lovely blog subscribers sporting their pink tutus around the world! My mission is to encourage everyone to embrace their inner twirling goddess, to add a dash of fun and colour to their everyday lives, and to remind everyone that sometimes, the simplest things can bring the biggest joys.
