Hello darlings! It's Friday, and you know what that means… it's time for a new Pink Tutu Blog post! Today I'm buzzing, because guess what? I'm in London! The big smoke, the city of dreams, the land of fashion, fun and... ballet, of course! 🩰
It feels so exciting to be back in this fabulous city after a bit of a break. I’ve got my trusty pink tutu (the one with the feather boa, because even on a train journey, one must look fabulous) packed and my heart is full of plans. My mission for this weekend is simple: explore London, find some inspiration for my next tutu, and make some wonderful new memories, all while spreading the Pink Tutu Love, naturally!
From Derbyshire to London by Train
First things first, I love travelling by train! There's something so romantic about it. You can settle in, admire the passing scenery (it's been so long since I've left my lovely Derbyshire, everything feels so exciting) and really let your imagination run wild! I spent most of the journey lost in a daydream about a new tutu design inspired by the beautiful autumn leaves I was seeing outside. You'll have to wait to see it though, because my tutu secrets are always safe with me. 😉
Hello London, Hello Friday Fun!
I arrived in London Victoria Station just in time to feel the Friday night excitement building! London always has such a buzz about it. I swear, everyone seems so glamorous, and of course, ready to party. As soon as I saw that first glimpse of London’s architecture and lights, I felt inspired! My plan today was to start exploring and see how much London magic I could cram into one day.
Street Style: London's Canvas
London, you know you’re my absolute favourite city for street style. Every corner holds a new fashion inspiration waiting to be discovered! I love watching people and their clothes and seeing how their individual personalities shine through their outfit choices.
Today I spied a lady wearing the most divine, emerald-green vintage dress with matching earrings! And a dapper gentleman wearing a pink tweed jacket – the man gets a pink tutu high five! You just can’t beat London for individual style.
Time for Tea (and a Fashion fix)
Of course, a trip to London isn't complete without a little bit of tea and shopping! I started my afternoon at Fortnum & Mason – how chic? We're talking delicious afternoon tea and the most stunning cakes. And the cakes, my darlings! I'm talking perfectly iced victoria sponge, fragrant Earl Grey and lemon scones. The entire place feels like stepping back in time, which is perfect because when you’re looking for fashion inspiration, you’ve gotta look to the past sometimes.
But don't worry, I didn’t let the tea cakes turn me into a total sugar plum – I spent a good hour exploring their fashion department and you know what I found? The perfect inspiration for a new tutu! 🤫 (more on that in my next post!)
The West End Calls!
No London trip would be complete without a little bit of theatre, right? I was so lucky because today's treat was an evening show on the West End – I went to see 'The Lion King’ (absolutely incredible, I don't even need to say more - 🦁🎤✨ ). The costume and set design? Breathtaking! And it gave me ideas for my next tutu performance, of course.
I’ve got to say, the energy of the theatre really gets me going. I love the way a theatre show makes the whole room come alive, with laughter, drama, tears, and all the emotions swirling around us. It’s infectious! It was such a fabulous reminder that every single one of us has a story to tell, and every story deserves to be told beautifully.
Pink Tutu Fun and London Lights
After the show, I walked through Covent Garden and just soaked up the vibe. There was a street performer dressed as a pink tutu ballerina doing some awesome dance moves – seriously, that girl was good! I totally thought about asking her if I could borrow the pink tutu! Maybe next time…
The whole evening felt like a fairy tale come to life, and it was such a good reminder that magic really is everywhere in London. It just takes a little imagination and a pink tutu to see it! 😉
Pink Tutu Dreams
Today in London was a wonderful whirlwind of inspiration, joy, and, yes, more than a few pink tutu dreams. From the colourful streets to the magnificent West End show and a fantastically fancy tea in a truly magical city, my heart is overflowing with happiness. London, you are my city, and I'll definitely be back for another visit soon!
