Hello darlings! It’s your favourite pink tutu wearing blogger, Emma, here. Today’s post comes to you live from London town, a city that always brings a sparkle to my eye. I arrived earlier today by train, all comfy and nestled in my usual spot in first class (thank you ballet performances!). There’s something so magical about hurtling through the countryside, then suddenly seeing the glittering skyline of London rising up in front of you. I even had time for a cheeky pink lemonade and a quick flick through the latest edition of Vogue – which by the way, has an adorable feature on tulle this month (the pink pages, naturally!).
Today’s adventure, as you know, is all about soaking up the city's vibrancy and charm. And believe me, London never disappoints. The air hums with life, and everyone seems to be dressed to impress! Today's sartorial choice, you guessed it, is my gorgeous blush pink tutu. It just goes with everything. Today it's paired with a fluffy pink cardigan, white ballerina flats, and my lucky pink beret – you know, to add that Parisian chic.
From Dance to Delicious
I've been absolutely dying to see the Royal Ballet’s new production of Swan Lake at the Royal Opera House. This iconic ballet always blows me away – there’s just something so exquisite about the choreography and the breathtaking sets. After a heart-warming performance, I just had to treat myself to afternoon tea in one of those quintessential English tearooms, with lace tablecloths and delicate sandwiches. It was almost like being transported back to a Jane Austen novel. I managed to resist the cake…almost. But you know, some pink iced cupcakes (and some ballet!) later will have to do!
A Stroll Through Shopping Paradise
One thing I just cannot resist is London’s legendary shopping. It’s the mecca of fashion, and this time, I set my sights on Kensington and Knightsbridge. I swear, even the street lamps have an aura of fabulousness in those neighbourhoods. I hit the sales (always a must!), picked up some adorable pastel-pink knitwear at Zara, and found a stunning vintage blush-coloured bag at a hidden gem on Portobello Road. Now, the question is: where to store all my treasures… hmm? Maybe a new pink handbag, anyone?
The Power of Ballet Street
My London adventures wouldn’t be complete without a little dose of ballet street performance. You guys know I absolutely love a street performance! It's like ballet taking the world by storm! The energy in the heart of Covent Garden is always electric, with dancers in every corner showing off their skills. I have to say, this weekend, I'm in awe of the talent I'm witnessing. This week, I was lucky enough to catch a stunning group performing on the Strand – the way they seamlessly moved from the streets to the steps of the National Gallery was absolutely breathtaking. It just goes to show that you can find beauty and art in the most unexpected places.
Taking the Tube
And speaking of finding beauty in the most unexpected places, have you ever noticed how magical the London Underground is at night? It feels like a city within a city, full of characters and hidden gems. I know, I know… some people find it a bit grimy, but I love its energy. Plus, you know how much I love colour! The brightly lit station walls against the backdrop of bustling people – it’s like a neverending canvas.
Finding my Inner Queen
But enough about me! My favourite part of the day, as you know, is connecting with all of you amazing tutu-wearers. Whether you’re out for a walk, attending a ballet, or just adding a little extra sparkle to your everyday life – you’re all pink-tutu queens. There's a reason why I love London. It's a melting pot of cultures and artistic expression. Every corner whispers with history and stories. London inspires me. And sometimes, it takes a little magic, a touch of sparkle, to make everyday life feel a little more special. And who doesn't love a little pink tutu to do just that?
