Pink Tutu Blog: London Calling! #1466 🩰✨💖
Hello my darlings! It's your favourite pink-loving ballerina, Emma, back with another adventure. This week, I'm trading the rolling hills of Derbyshire for the vibrant energy of London! The train journey is always a treat - there's something so magical about hurtling through the countryside, watching the scenery blur past the window, and dreaming about all the exciting adventures that await in the big smoke. I mean, it's Friday, darling, and we all know that means a new Pink Tutu Blog post is ready to make your day a whole lot brighter!
This week, I've been twirling around London town and there's SO MUCH to tell you about, so get your cuppa ready, pop on your most sparkly shoes and let's dive in!
The Pink Tutu TakeoverOkay, let's be real, you know me – a pink tutu is NEVER going to be too far from my side! So, of course, I had to find the perfect spot to capture that ultimate pink tutu London selfie. And wouldn't you know it, right by Buckingham Palace itself there was the most adorable pink phone booth! Imagine, you could almost hear the Queen herself cheering, "Get it, girl!" I can almost hear you shouting, "Posing next to Buckingham Palace? Swoon." But that's not the best bit, darling, you wait until you hear what else I found…
A Magical Day Out At The Royal BalletAfter the glorious photo shoot, I was off to the Royal Opera House. And guess what? They had the most stunning ballet show – Swan Lake. It was pure enchantment, and I couldn't help but get swept away by the graceful swans and the passionate drama. Seriously, those tutus! They were a riot of colour! Imagine a sea of fluffy white feathers floating across the stage – perfection! And let me tell you, the choreography? Top notch. Every move was so expressive and emotive, you felt it right down to your toes. Honestly, if I didn't have my own ballerina duties to attend to, I would have joined them right there on the stage. Maybe in the future, eh? Winks mischievously.
After Swan Lake, it was time to do a little shopping! This is my favourite part about London - I can lose myself in the colourful and charming stores! My new love is The Little Pink Boutique on King's Road! They have the most delightful and playful clothes - perfect for every kind of tutu-lover. It was impossible not to pick up a few pieces - a sparkly pink top and some adorable rainbow socks.
Pink-Tastic Finds Around LondonLet's face it, you just can't go to London without grabbing a delicious slice of cake, so, I headed over to the Pink Cake Bakery, oh, it's SO cute! Their cake is unbelievably beautiful and fluffy, it practically melted in my mouth. Every layer of their signature "Pink Delight" cake tasted like a piece of heaven. The interior is as adorable as the cakes, too. It's covered in all the best pink things - lace doilies, flowers, fluffy pillows, you name it, and it's pink! Honestly, darling, I wanted to curl up and stay in there forever, but the streets of London were calling me…
London is a wonderland for ballet fans! It was like every turn had another ballet school, studio, or even just a window displaying amazing pointe shoes. It felt like London was echoing the rhythm of my heart. I even spotted a charming, quirky ballet boutique in Notting Hill – a delightful little shop brimming with tutus of every imaginable colour! Imagine a boutique packed with fluffy skirts in all the best shades! There were delicate pastel pinks, vibrant fuchsia, a glorious turquoise and some gorgeous bold red tutus - I found my heart skipping a beat right there! Seriously, this whole city is making me dream of my next costume design…
And of course, what is a visit to London without a bit of theater? The Royal Shakespeare Company's rendition of As You Like It left me absolutely spellbound. It was just perfect - dramatic, whimsical and wonderfully romantic. After the show, I felt like I had truly witnessed the heart and soul of this city, in all its theatrical glory!
Ballet On The Streets of LondonOne thing you might not know, is that I have a secret passion… ballet street! I've found that so many of the street performers in London have such a powerful talent! Some are even professional ballet dancers! I felt so inspired! It really proved to me that you can be a ballerina anywhere - even in the heart of a bustling city!
The sheer passion, dedication, and sheer skill were an absolute joy to witness. It truly brought the city to life! And you know what else? It was all completely free! This kind of artistry doesn't need to cost a fortune. There's beauty and creativity to be found in the most unexpected places, and it just proves that dancing is truly for everyone.
Speaking of everyone, have you all gotten your pink tutu out for the weekend? It's the perfect way to embrace your inner ballerina and add a dash of fun to any occasion!
