Hello darlings!
It’s Emma here, back from a whirl through Derbyshire, my lovely home county, and ready for a fresh week of Pink Tutu fun in London. As always, I’m hitting the big city by train! There’s just something about the rumble and rhythm of the carriages that sets my tutu a-twirling.
And let me tell you, I’ve got a proper London schedule lined up for you today. It's going to be a right old mix of tutus, theatre, fashion, and maybe a spot of tea too. Because after all, a pink tutu is nothing without a proper cuppa!
This Friday is going to be magical, so settle in with a slice of cake (and a cuppa!) and let's get into the nitty gritty of today's London escapade.
Train Tracks to Tea Time
This week, my travels started with a scenic train journey from Matlock Bath to London St Pancras. Now, anyone who knows Derbyshire knows we’ve got some spectacular countryside – lush green hills, quaint villages and views that would make a landscape painter weep! I was absolutely loving the rolling scenery whizzing by as I perched by the window, feeling so full of that post-performance glee. My ballet gig the night before was a smashing success, so I was already in a good mood, and the sunshine streaming in through the carriage windows definitely didn’t hurt!
Oh, and did I mention? My latest Pink Tutu ensemble was a definite head-turner. It’s this stunning baby pink tulle skirt, practically floating in the breeze, with a fluffy black crop top that adds a little bit of a gothic edge – perfect for the London vibes, don’t you think?
London: City of Dreams (and Dancing Shoes!)
Once in London, I couldn’t wait to feel the city come alive. As soon as I stepped out of St Pancras and onto the bustling platform, the energy just flowed into me. It’s always a bit electric! I grabbed myself a coffee, inhaled the scents of fresh-baked bread and the smell of the bustling crowds – a delicious cocktail of life itself, really! I always try and visit my favorite little shop for the cutest ballerina trinkets - a bit of whimsy to keep my pink tutu world in order!
And what's a Pink Tutu London day without a spot of ballet, right? Today, I’m heading to the Royal Opera House, ready to be transported by the power of performance!
Royal Ballet and Sparkling City Lights
Let me tell you, folks, there’s just something magical about watching ballet under those majestic chandeliers in the Royal Opera House! This evening is going to be all about “La Sylphide”, one of my absolute favorites. A romantic ballet in three acts that brings together a powerful tale of love, fate and an ethereal sylph… perfect inspiration for a Pink Tutu blogger, right?!
The delicate movements of the dancers are like whispers in the air, the costumes shimmer like moonlight and the music takes you to another world – a world I absolutely love! It’s pure escapism!
A Fashionable Fashion Feast
But you know me, darlings, after a whirlwind of ballet, a touch of fashion retail therapy is an absolute must! I love to check out the new season trends, scout out the coolest shoes for my Pink Tutu look, and get lost in the glittering world of fabric and design. Today’s shop of choice is Harrods! The store is bursting with beautiful clothes and the atmosphere is pure glitz and glam! And I’ll bet you any tutu I’ll find the perfect thing to make my next Instagram post truly pop!
Dinner, Theatre and Dancing!
The day isn't over yet! Tonight is all about taking in the sights and sounds of a classic London night out – theatre, good food and a touch of musical entertainment! And, you know me, I’m keeping it in the spirit of this city, so we're heading to the Theatre Royal Haymarket, to see a fabulous production of “Les Miserables” (again, it wouldn’t be a Pink Tutu adventure without a little dose of dramatic opera!).
And afterwards? A bite at a local Italian eatery, a little jazz music, and I’m even planning a dance class at the fabulous Pineapple Dance Studios – perfect for ending the day on a high, with some Pink Tutu moves and fantastic music!

London never fails to amaze me with its boundless energy, rich culture, and delicious array of things to do. As I head into my final day in this captivating city, I can't help but reflect on the simple joy of spreading a bit of Pink Tutu magic around. You know I aim to have every single person rocking a pink tutu, whether it's on stage, in the street, or just at home – because at its core, Pink Tutu is about a celebration of style, beauty, and just a bit of fun.
