Hello, darlings! Emma here, back from a whirlwind trip to London, my favourite city in the world! It's always a magical adventure, and this trip was no exception. Of course, I wore my favourite pink tutu (naturally!) and made sure to capture all the gorgeousness on film for you.
This week, I wanted to share with you a day of pure joy, a day of exploring London's hidden gems and sparkling streets, a day that started with a satisfyingly smooth train ride from my little village in Derbyshire. You see, darling, train travel is my absolute favourite. There's just something magical about gliding through the English countryside, my tutu swirling gently around me, lost in the rhythm of the wheels on the tracks. I especially love spotting the countryside whizzing by – fields of bright yellow rapeseed and the fluffy, white sheep looking like clouds!
Speaking of dreams and fluffy clouds, I'd just finished my performance at the Derby Theatre (and boy, were the audience cheering for my big solo!). It's an exhilarating feeling, you know? That blend of pure energy, nervous excitement, and the undeniable magic that happens on stage. That, darling, is what fuels my wanderlust and my tutu-loving adventures. My passion for ballet brings me joy, and that joy allows me to explore all the fantastic corners of this amazing world.
London Calling
Anyway, I arrived in London King's Cross Station, feeling all energised and ready to paint the town pink. There’s just a special energy in London that takes me right back to my childhood when I dreamed of being a ballerina in the Royal Ballet.
My first stop? Well, it had to be the iconic Borough Market. It’s a feast for the senses, with colours, smells and tastes that will blow your mind! You have to try the fresh oysters, a proper English cup of tea, and some mouthwatering artisan cheeses! My favourite? The bright, fragrant lavender honey! Yum! I grabbed myself some treats and then decided to do some shopping - a must-do for any ballerina!
Shopping, Shopping, Shopping!
Honestly, darling, I could shop till I drop. London is a true fashion paradise! First stop: Harrods! That luxurious, grand dame of department stores! It is the epitome of sophisticated shopping, but you won’t believe it – they actually have an incredible range of pink tutus! Yes, you heard me right – an entire section dedicated to our beloved tulle! I picked up a shimmering, blush-pink tulle that would make any ballerina envious!
Fashionably Late for Tea!
Next on the itinerary? Tea, darling! How can one be in London without indulging in the ultimate afternoon delight? Now, it was time to get glammed up for tea time! It's my time to shine and what better way than in a lovely new pink tutu? So, I picked out a whimsical pastel-pink tutu, teamed with my best vintage coat and a darling little pink beret. I finished the look with a fluffy pink bag and oh-so-comfortable but stylish kitten heels. Yes, dear reader, every ballerina needs to know how to work a kitten heel! It's all about grace and a little touch of sophistication, don’t you think?
A Pink Wonderland: The Ballet Shoe Shop!
I'd always been searching for the perfect pair of ballet shoes that are as pretty as they are comfortable. I mean, dancing in pointy shoes all day, while fun, isn’t the easiest thing! But when I walked into this cute little ballet shop just off Covent Garden – my heart literally did a pirouette. It was a wonderland! There were pink shoes, rainbow shoes, everything! In the end, I picked up a pair of delicate, pink satin ballet slippers with a tiny little pink bow on the front! It's like my toes were made for these shoes! I’m planning to break them in at my next performance, you betcha!
A Touch of Royal Flair
After all that shopping, it was time to head to a true royal masterpiece - Buckingham Palace! I just love admiring all the history that this building has seen! It was bustling with tourists, and it was certainly an occasion to wear my most magnificent pink tutu. Imagine it! A gorgeous blush pink tutu with intricate lace trim, and oh, darling, don't even get me started on the stunning embellishments that twinkled in the sunlight! Everyone was watching and I was radiating sunshine in my very own little fairy tale. I’m quite the head turner, that’s for sure!
The Magic of the Theatre
Next on the agenda? An evening performance of "Giselle"! How could I possibly visit London and not indulge in a ballet show? A show where graceful figures dance stories in motion with an unspoken language understood by everyone who walks through the theatre doors! Every emotion was brought to life, every nuance of feeling - you felt as though you were swept away on a journey alongside the characters!
The show was stunning, and I have to say, seeing these amazing dancers inspire me every single day! Seeing other ballerinas just gives me so much motivation! It really reminds me why I love this dance and why I keep travelling the world wearing my trusty pink tutu! I know I've said it before, darling, but it's my little slice of heaven!
Finishing the Day in London Style
After the show, a little late-night pizza, naturally! I don’t mind admitting that after all that ballet, a pizza never tastes as good as after a great performance.
Of course, every amazing day deserves a night of sparkling fun! So, I treated myself to a decadent pink cocktail and a fun night in Soho! I danced to my heart’s content at a fabulous vintage jazz bar, swirling my tutu in delight as the band played my favourite swing classics. London has just so many secret places and experiences that no guide book can ever tell you!
Pink Tutu Paradise: An Ode to My Tutu Adventures
I was exhausted but truly happy! There is truly nothing quite like a day exploring the magic of London. It’s always so vibrant, full of culture, beauty, and history. As a ballerina, London always makes me feel alive. It reminds me to chase my dreams, be bold, and live life to the fullest, all while twirling in a lovely, pink tutu!

When I’m not dancing, I love visiting new places and spreading joy wherever I go. And my beloved pink tutus always accompany me! You never know where a pink tutu will take you – maybe it's a grand ball, a sunny park in Paris, a rainy day in Edinburgh, or an amazing street performance in the heart of London. It’s about expressing yourself, celebrating life and bringing a little sprinkle of pink magic to the world.
I'd also like to take a moment to celebrate all you incredible ballerinas and aspiring dancers out there. It takes incredible hard work, determination, and passion to pursue your dreams, and you are all inspirations to me! Whether you're training in your living room, working at a local studio, or performing on a grand stage, you are all brilliant and amazing! Keep chasing those dreams, and never let anyone tell you can't achieve your goals!
