Pink Tutu Milan: #63 - Bella Milano, Sweetest Dreams!

Ciao, darlings!

It’s Wednesday, which means it’s Pink Tutu Milan time, and this week, I'm practically bursting with excitement to share all the beautiful things that have happened in my little corner of Milan. It's like someone sprinkled fairy dust over the city - pure magic!

Let me tell you, Milan has got that irresistible charm. It's like stepping into a stylish film set - every corner is an opportunity to capture a perfect Instagram shot (especially when you're in your favourite pink tutu!).

I just adore this city, and the Italians are the sweetest! They've all been so kind to me, offering me helpful directions in their lilting Italian even though my Italian is about as fluent as a baby's babbling. It's all about smiles, gestures, and a lot of laughter, which is always my kind of conversation!

Oh, this week has been utterly amazing!

I had to come all the way from Derbyshire, England, for a ballet performance last week. And by all the way I mean a couple of flights and train journeys – which is honestly a complete adventure in itself, let's be honest! Especially when you get to travel through those picturesque Italian landscapes – rolling hills and ancient ruins! It's like a real-life fairytale unfolding.

The train journey was particularly memorable this time. As I sat in my corner seat watching the scenery fly past, I couldn't help but daydream about all the exciting ballet shows that might be waiting for me in every charming town we were whizzing through. (Yes, I am a bit of a ballet fanatic, in case you couldn't tell!).

You know what they say, “a dream is just a wish your heart makes”! And my heart, well, it has got some pretty grand plans for this Pink Tutu tour of Milan. 😉

I mean, how can you not get swept up by the sheer passion for the arts that pulsates through the very streets of this city? Just imagine: a city steeped in history, cobblestone streets lined with grand palaces, cafes buzzing with the sound of chatter – and me, in my twirling pink tutu, floating through it all, a perfect blend of classic and contemporary, and all things fabulous. It truly doesn't get much better!

Speaking of fabulous, I had to go shopping, didn't I?

I've discovered the most enchanting little boutique hidden away in a side street - like a secret portal to fashion heaven. All the things are like a dream – silks and satins that flow like liquid, and delicate lace that tickles your skin with every touch. I found a stunning new pink satin scarf that I'm going to wear for my upcoming ballet performance this week. (Speaking of ballet - if you're looking for an authentic Italian ballet experience, Milan is the place to be! The theatre stages are alive with energy - the dancers are brilliant and the costumes are jaw-dropping. You literally get swept up in the magic!)

Oh, the shopping, you ask? Let me tell you all about it!

Now, darling, as a dedicated fashionista with a deep appreciation for everything pink, you can only imagine the excitement this shopping trip ignited. The boutique was like a vision in blush tones, soft lighting casting a beautiful glow on the carefully curated clothes. Every garment looked like a masterpiece! I picked up some exquisite silk flowers in delicate shades of pink and peach, a new blush-colored straw hat with a velvet ribbon for a touch of dramatic elegance. (That hat looks amazing with my new pink satin dress – it just completes the look, trust me!)

You know I love to explore and wander, soaking up all the delicious detail in each little hidden alleyway, finding my little pocket of magic, especially on those days when you need a change from all that fast-paced Milanese life (and trust me, it’s fast-paced here, all day and all night!) I've got a thing for little cafes, especially the ones tucked away in charming courtyards. Those beautiful floral archways are just like a scene from a film - a perfect blend of vintage elegance and modern charm. I absolutely love indulging in some authentic Milanese pastries and a perfect cup of hot chocolate! Oh, and such charming waiters!

Then, it's all about taking in the cultural sights. My week in Milan has been bursting with stunning things to see! From the majestic Duomo Cathedral (oh, those intricate marble sculptures! So breathtaking! ), the imposing Sforza Castle with its stunning frescoes (there is nothing I love more than an art exhibition - they never disappoint!), the elegant Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II - (it's a shoppers' paradise - high-end shops in all their luxurious glory, but those mosaics are just something else) and so much more! You could get lost in its hidden wonders! (Of course, while I was at the Sforza Castle, I put on a little impromptu show. 😉 Just a few graceful twirls for the locals who gathered to watch! Who wouldn't stop to watch a ballet performance, especially a pink tutu ballerina? They were all cheering!)

I'm telling you, there's just something so alluring about Milan. It’s like this grand Italian dream waiting to be discovered, a story to be lived and cherished! I'm falling in love with it bit by bit with every moment spent in its vibrant embrace.

It truly is the perfect backdrop to showcase my Pink Tutu dreams!

So what else has been on my Milan itinerary? Well, as an avid ballet fan (and a devoted advocate of Pink Tutu style, naturally) - ballet has, of course, taken center stage! I've been to a performance at the Teatro alla Scala - truly spectacular, and had a wonderful ballet lesson, soaking up the knowledge from these wonderful Italian instructors. They truly are gifted!
