Pink Tutu Milan: Week 105 - Oh, Milan, You're So Chic!

Ciao, darlings! It's Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-wearing travel blogger, bringing you the latest from Milan, the fashion capital of the world! The sun is shining, the air is buzzing with excitement, and I’m just overflowing with stories about all the incredible things I’ve seen and experienced in this gorgeous city.

From Derbyshire to Milan, My Pink Tutu Travels!

As always, it’s a little bittersweet saying goodbye to Derbyshire – those rolling green hills, the quaint village tea shops, my adorable cottage (with its, dare I say, perfectly pink door). But the excitement of exploring new cities always pulls me away. And this time, the pull of Milan’s fashion scene was stronger than ever!

This week, I'm all about sharing my Milan adventures with you! And believe me, there's been no shortage of exciting moments: dazzling ballet shows, delicious gelato, charming tram rides, and – oh my, the shopping!

Taking to the Streets with Ballet:

As always, Milan has not disappointed! I’ve already fallen in love with this city. I landed in Milan this morning, jumped onto a sleek, modern tram and went straight to the centre. First stop, the Duomo! You simply can’t come to Milan without gazing up at the exquisite, intricate facade of this masterpiece of Gothic architecture. I can already tell I'll be spending many hours admiring it in the coming days. I'm imagining it lit up at night, its gothic spires piercing the darkness… pure magic!

And what would a trip to Milan be without a trip to the Teatro alla Scala, the most iconic opera house in the world? I managed to nab a last-minute ticket to see a performance of "La Traviata" which was truly magical. I swear I even spotted the spirit of La Scala’s beloved, legendary ballerina Carla Fracci watching the performance from the Royal Box. It sent a shiver down my spine – how amazing would it have been to watch her grace the stage!

But of course, there's no place like home for ballet lovers. So, this week I've also been savouring classes at the stunning Teatro Nuovo studio, right here in the heart of Milan. The energy in the studios is just incredible! I’ve met some wonderful dancers from all over the world - each one a true ballet superstar! Sharing the joy of dancing with these inspiring people is something truly special!

Fashion Inspiration Galore:

I've already been tempted into some heavenly purchases. Just last night, I ventured into the luxurious Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, that grand architectural wonder with its sweeping arched ceilings and its chic designer shops. You truly could spend a lifetime exploring this incredible space, browsing the racks of the world's finest fashion houses. I admit, I've already fallen in love with a few breathtaking, Italian leather bags, and, of course, a couple of fabulous outfits to take home for my London blog photoshoots.

There's something truly special about shopping in Milan. The people are incredibly stylish, and the boutiques are a sight to behold! The latest trends, the highest quality materials, the breathtaking window displays - I’m simply spoilt for choice.

The Art of Tram Travel:

Milan's tram network is incredible! The trams are efficient, stylish and affordable, the perfect way to get around this buzzing city! It’s become my favourite way to take in the scenery and discover hidden gems. It’s a wonderful way to immerse yourself in the energy and soul of Milan! I can see why the tram is an integral part of everyday life here. I just love how locals of all ages sit together chatting or reading, sharing the experience of travel!

And, of course, there are so many photo opportunities! The trams are simply beautiful, painted in classic cream and green livery, each with its own unique vintage charm! I’ve been capturing the charm and beauty of this urban scene, in photos. My camera is certainly working overtime in Milan. There’s something utterly timeless about the way the tram system integrates seamlessly with the fabric of this city. It’s truly beautiful. And my followers, well, they love seeing me posing in front of this chic Milanese backdrop, my pink tutu bouncing gently!

A Taste of Milan:

But of course, a visit to Milan isn’t just about ballet and shopping – there's so much deliciousness to be savoured, too. From creamy gelatos to perfectly-brewed espressos, the food scene here is an explosion of flavour and deliciousness. I just know I’ll be adding a good helping of Italian style to my wardrobe!

Sharing the Pink Tutu Love:

So, darlings, that’s just a tiny taste of what I’ve been up to here in Milan! It’s been a whirlwind, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’ve fallen deeply in love with this city, with its passion, style, its elegance, its beauty, and, of course, its love of dance! It truly feels like home from the moment I step off the train!

I’ll be sharing more of my Milan adventures throughout the week – stay tuned for more pink tutu moments! Until then, don’t forget to join me at www.pink-tutu.com for weekly posts!
