Pink Tutu Milan: Post #235 - A Whirlwind Week in the Fashion Capital

Ciao bellas!

It's Emma here, reporting live from the heart of Milan. The air here is buzzing with creativity, the streets are a runway of chic, and I'm completely immersed in all things fashion, culture, and…of course, ballet! This week, I've been absolutely twirling with excitement, so let me catch you up on the latest from the pinkest corner of Italy!

This past week has been an absolute dream! I started off the week with a burst of pink, as always, my darling tutus never leave my suitcase! I’m so lucky to get paid for doing what I love. My performance on Saturday night in London was a total success, full house and lots of smiles! My London show is actually why I'm in Milan – I’m using this opportunity to sneak in some sightseeing and of course, my absolute favorite thing in the world: Shopping!

A Pink Paradise:

Now, my fellow tutu enthusiasts, if you ever get the chance to come to Milan, don’t miss the amazing vintage and second-hand shops scattered across the city. I could easily get lost in them for days, unearthing beautiful and unique pieces. This week, I snagged the most stunning vintage brocade jacket in the most beautiful blush pink. It will be perfect for a winter ballet recital - I can just picture myself gliding across the stage in it, and my new vintage blush pink ballet pumps are to die for! Oh, the possibilities are endless with these gems! If you’re a lover of anything pink, believe me when I say you need to come here, because you can be certain you'll discover treasures you never knew existed!

Milan Tram Adventures

Who needs a fancy car when you can hop on a vintage Milanese tram? It’s my absolute favorite way to explore the city! Not only is it cheaper than a taxi, but the journey is such a unique experience – imagine charming vintage interiors, the rattle and rumble of the tracks, and windows offering amazing views of the city's hidden alleys. I could spend hours on this magic carpet ride, gazing out at the world go by.

I swear, I saw more pink shades on these tram rides than I have seen in all my previous travels! It was incredible. There were so many amazing pink outfits in my local Milan neighborhood too! I need to get better with my photography so I can share the styles. Milan is overflowing with beautiful things!

The Theatre Experience

Milan is not only a fashion hub, it’s also a cultural melting pot, filled with theatres that whisper stories from times gone by. I was so lucky to catch a truly phenomenal ballet performance at the Teatro alla Scala - this place is just magical! You can practically feel the history oozing from its walls. It felt so surreal watching such passionate performances within such a grand setting!

It was pure artistry! I spent the rest of the week looking up the other performances here! The beautiful buildings are inspiring, so they all make my toes tap and my mind imagine dance choreography and performances!

Pink, Always, Pink

Of course, what’s a pink-loving girl to do in a city with such delicious inspiration? I treated myself to a few extra special souvenirs. I found this exquisite silk scarf at a street market, adorned with a delicate pattern of roses, and I couldn't resist. Now, the best part? You guessed it - it’s pink! It's already finding a new life wrapped around my favourite ballerina bun, and my pink bag (the only bag a pink tutu wearer can have) too! A pink scarf and pink bag? It's just the start. A Pink Tutu blogger's world can't ever have enough pink!

Where the Magic Happens

This week's dance lesson was one I will never forget, not just because my favourite pair of ballet shoes were worn by a former Prima Ballerina from this famous Italian school, but because we went to a special school in the heart of Milan that trains dancers for the Teatro alla Scala! They're seriously tough over there - but in a fun, positive way, of course. Their passion is evident from the moment you walk through the door!

I think it's so inspiring for all aspiring ballerinas out there! I'll probably visit again and learn all I can.

I always love a good challenge! Maybe my ballerina class back in Derbyshire should start practicing for a show. A big dream of mine would be to organize a huge pink tutu event and have an amazing ballet dance show back in my hometown - I have big dreams of bringing the magic of dance and pink tutus to my beloved Derbyshire.

I can't wait to return to Milan again soon! Next week I'm off to visit my good friend in Germany to see if I can find more pink accessories - if she won’t take me to visit the gorgeous shops in Hamburg - then my pink tutus might get a little bit upset!

Catch you soon! Emma xx
