Pink Tutu Milan - Wednesday 9th October 2002 (Blog Post #383)

Ciao Bella! 🩰

Well, hello there darlings! This week I'm whisked away to Milan, a city of style, grace and...yes, you guessed it! More pink tutus! 🎀

For a while now, I've been dreaming of bringing the magic of the Pink Tutu to this glamorous fashion hub. My last Milan trip was all about the Spring Fashion Show - oh, the fabulous fabrics and cutting edge designs! I can't wait to share some of that with you.

But for now, we're here to talk about Milan in autumn, the golden leaves and crisp air, and a feeling that whispers of cozy nights and steaming cups of hot chocolate. Ah, I do love autumn! It's the perfect season for tutus, don't you think? I just have to wear one that's in deep reds, rusts and browns with a touch of sparkling gold to catch the fading sunlight. 😉

This time I'm here to witness a breathtaking ballet performance. This year's ballet season kicked off in the Teatro alla Scala, the epitome of Italian Opera and Ballet. This truly is a must-visit for any ballet aficionado!

Imagine my delight when I realised the schedule included "The Nutcracker". Oh my goodness! I love the whimsical fairytale magic of this story! Remember last Christmas in my Derbyshire home? We had a miniature Nutcracker ornament in the Christmas tree - the sweetest little fellow. I think the show's going to be even sweeter than my little ornament!

Now, this wouldn't be a proper Milan adventure without a little bit of sightseeing, would it? And when it comes to seeing a city, the best way is, in my opinion, on the tram. There's nothing more delightful than settling into the soft plush seating of a traditional Milanese tram, my pink tutu flowing gracefully beside me. 🚃 It feels like stepping into a scene from an old film, only I get to play the lead role!

Milan's tram system is efficient and economical, not to mention being incredibly scenic, especially with the changing leaves painting the streets in a dazzling autumnal glow. It gives me a chance to really soak up the unique Milanese charm! This evening, after exploring the city, we're making our way to a little shop I found tucked away on a back street, specializing in stunning vintage fabrics. Oh, the treasures we will find! 💖

Speaking of treasures, the biggest surprise was yet to come! Walking through the city centre yesterday, I happened to stumble upon a troupe of dancers in the Piazza Duomo. They were rehearsing for an outdoor performance - an incredible spectacle! You could barely see the magnificent Milan Duomo Cathedral in the background for all the vibrant pink tutus dancing in the sun. Yes, dear readers, this time around, Milan will be painted pink, with an added touch of sparkle, because you guessed it! These gorgeous ladies were all sporting fabulous, pink tutus with the most amazing embellishments! My heart literally skipped a beat, I could hardly believe it. My little pink dream has come true! 🎉

We all gathered as they took centre stage and brought the entire city to a standstill! Their energy was electric! 💥 Even with the iconic Duomo Cathedral towering behind them, you couldn't help but focus on the vibrant dance. Each pirouette and plié radiated such joy! It was like being transported into a world of fantasy, where life becomes a ballet and pink tutus are the magic ingredient.

My mission is, as always, to spread the pink tutu love and inspire others to embrace their inner dancer! And trust me, it’s easier than you think! With every new town, every new adventure, the pink tutu crew grows. Imagine that - a global pink tutu sisterhood, united by our love of dance, style, and a whole lot of sparkly pink tulle! 🩰✨

I'm planning a special evening performance at the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. Can you imagine a ballet under the soaring glass dome with the world’s most stylish people? This would be the perfect blend of tradition and modern expression! And it’s in the perfect location to show off a stunning pink tutu! I hope you'll be there to witness this truly unique spectacle, and to maybe even join me for a spin around the grand hall, pink tutu to pink tutu. I can practically feel the elegant swirls and twirls as I envision the dancers twirling beneath the glorious vaulted ceilings. ✨

This time around, the pink tutu revolution starts here, right in the heart of Milan, the very place where style and creativity are born. Let's get the world dancing! 💃🕺 Join the pink tutu crew today and together, let's bring a little bit of magic into the world.

Stay tuned, because my Italian adventure is just beginning! 😉

Love,

Emma xx
