Hello darlings! It's Wednesday again, and I'm here in fabulous Milan, typing away in my hotel room after another whirlwind week of ballet, shopping, and delicious Italian food! I swear, this city just oozes elegance and sophistication - and it's utterly intoxicating! 😉
As you know, I'm all about spreading the joy of the pink tutu - so this week, my travels have been fueled by a thrilling ballet performance at La Scala! I mean, La Scala! 😱 Can you even imagine?! The energy was electric, the dancers were divine, and the costumes were absolutely breathtaking! Honestly, you wouldn't believe the exquisite tutus I saw, darling - there was even a lilac one, a complete deviation from my pink palette, but it was just too stunning to ignore! Gasp!
Speaking of tutus, my very own pink tutu came in handy for an impromptu photo shoot on the charming Piazza del Duomo. You know how much I love finding the perfect backdrop, and the cathedral and surrounding buildings are just too photogenic. 📸 I've got to share this, but I might be starting a trend - a little pink tutu goes a long way, especially with a good Parisian-inspired street style aesthetic. And I must admit, I'm feeling incredibly inspired by the incredible street fashion I've seen in Milan. This city truly knows how to do chic, with a dash of sass thrown in for good measure! 👠
A Day on the Tram 🚊
This week, I decided to skip the taxi and embraced the city's vibrant tram system - and let me tell you, it's such a delightful experience! It's a great way to see the city from a local perspective. You see the people going about their day, the charming buildings, and get a real sense of the pulse of this amazing city. I've been trying out some of the best traditional Italian pastries on my journey (they are all so tempting - how can I possibly resist?). Let me just say, there is something deeply satisfying about sitting in a comfy, pink tutu-adorned tram and watching the city rush by. You truly feel the magic of Milan! ✨
An Ode to Shopping in Milan! 🛍️
This city is truly a shopaholic's paradise! The shopping streets here are so elegant, and I simply had to get myself a new pink top for all the delicious gelato dates and balcony breakfasts I've been enjoying (it's good for motivation!). 😉 I must tell you, there's this adorable little shop I discovered - tucked away in a quiet alleyway. The shopkeeper is such a charmer, and the selection is simply incredible! There are just so many beautiful Italian pieces that would look sensational in a pink tutu outfit. The fabric is amazing, the designs are exquisite, and I felt so incredibly fashionable! 💖 I had to grab a few extra things for my upcoming trip to Verona. That city is the epitome of romance - think Verona from Romeo and Juliet! I can already picture myself walking around in a vibrant pink tutu - so pretty! 💖 (Who am I kidding? I wear a pink tutu everywhere! 😉)
A Dance Through Time 🩰
I had to squeeze in another ballet class this week. You see, my fellow dancers in Derbyshire keep telling me how my pink tutus are amazing for class and on stage. (It is true - it does make for some rather stylish movements - the girls back home are very jealous). And it turns out the Italian dance scene is quite incredible. The ballet school here is the perfect spot for learning more about ballet - even if it is on the other side of Europe! (Maybe I can talk some of the girls in the dance school back in England to join me!) 🤔
Oh, and another thing, I got this stunning little pink leather handbag! Isn't that the perfect souvenir to take back with me to England? I swear, I just cannot get enough of pink here in Italy - and every shop here is a wonderland of the most divine, fashionable, beautiful pieces! ✨
I must admit, my favourite moment this week was sitting at the Aperitivo hour in a picturesque square. Sipping on my Aperol Spritz with some yummy little nibbles and watching the world go by! Milan is so vibrant, and it feels like this city is brimming with culture, art, and history, all waiting to be discovered. ✨
A Toast to Pink Tutued Adventures!🥂
Oh, one more thing! Remember those tickets I won to the Ballet de Paris? It was unreal! The whole evening was magical. The stage, the music, the costumes - it all felt incredibly magical. It truly was an amazing night. The girls even signed my tutu after the show - the memories from this trip will last a lifetime.💖 This ballet trip will definitely be a pinch me moment forever - oh, and the most wonderful part? They loved my tutu!! It was such a magical and unexpected adventure. 🩰
