Pink Tutu Milan #702: The Pinkest City in the World?!

Buongiorno, darlings!

It's Emma here, back from a whirlwind trip to Milan, the fashion capital of the world! And you know what? It's almost as pink as I am!

I can't believe it's already Wednesday – the week just seems to whizz past, especially when I'm chasing dreams of twirling and sparkles! It feels like I was just packing my sparkly suitcase, pink, of course, and hopping onto the Eurostar for a fantastic train journey, full of gazing at the French countryside and dreaming of gelato (is that an acceptable food dream to have in a blog post?).

I knew this trip was going to be special. You see, darling, Milan holds a particular place in my heart for many reasons:

  1. The Fashion! Let's just be honest – I love a good outfit, and Milan just bursts with inspiration! I spotted some utterly gorgeous ballet shoes, just the sort to wear on a grand, swirling finale, and the coolest silk scarves to accessorize my pink tutu. Oh, and let's not forget the bags – did you know Milan is home to a little company called Prada? And Gucci? They know how to do pink!

  2. The History! Okay, I may not be a history buff, but Milan has charm in spades! From the stunning Duomo, which is like a giant cake you just want to lick (in a totally respectable way, of course!), to the elegant galleries, I felt a touch of magic every corner I turned. I love that feeling of a story in the air, a tale waiting to be unfolded.

  3. The Ballet! This is where I truly fall in love, darling. I just knew this city had to be overflowing with beautiful, emotive ballet! And let me tell you, I wasn't wrong! The Teatro alla Scala, a jewel box of a theater, hosted a phenomenal production of Swan Lake – the swans were elegant, the music was soul-stirring, and the ballerinas… Oh, those ballerina!

I also had the absolute joy of finding a charming, intimate little ballet studio just around the corner from my lovely hotel. (Can you imagine? Me, in my little pink tutu, dancing with a whole group of wonderful people in Italy?! Dreams do come true!). I got to learn a new combination from a talented, patient teacher – you'll be seeing that move in my next performance, my dear friends, just you wait!

Pinkifying Milan:

I know I often say I want to "pinkify" the world, but in Milan, it feels possible! Everywhere I turned, pink had already taken root. From the delicate roses in window boxes to the vibrant cocktails at rooftop bars, the city was practically bathed in shades of blush, candy floss, and rosewater.

A Day in Pink-Tutu Milan:

Here's how a little pink tutu danced its way through a day in Milan, just for you:

Morning: It's impossible to go to Milan and not see the Duomo, darling. So, after a breakfast of pastries and pink lemonade at a quaint little cafe near my hotel (with impeccable pink napkins!), I headed to the cathedral. It was utterly breathtaking! I even took some cheeky snaps with a group of tourists who were totally smitten with my tutu! (You see, darling, the pink just draws people in).

Afternoon: I got lost in the elegant, pink-walled boutiques along Via Montenapoleone – shopping is my therapy, you know. And wouldn't you know it? I found the most adorable pink bag, perfect for all my dance necessities (especially the extra hairspray!). Then, after a delectable pizza topped with pink grapefruit (a delightful touch!) at a bustling, open-air restaurant, I went to the Teatro alla Scala for that glorious Swan Lake performance.

Evening: As dusk fell, painting the city in beautiful hues of rose, I enjoyed a romantic dinner with a delectable pink sorbet (imagine – it even tasted like it was a ballet!). Afterwards, I wandered through the beautifully lit streets, enjoying the magical ambiance. It really did feel like something out of a fairy tale!

And here's the real magic, my dear: Milan has heart. Sure, it's dazzling with fashion and glamour, but it's also full of warmth, kindness, and a love of life. The locals embraced me with open arms, even when I twirled down a busy street just because I felt the urge to. (And trust me, darling, it's such a good feeling! Don't let anyone tell you different).

So, are you inspired to take a trip to Milan, darling? It's waiting for you to embrace your inner ballerina and wear your most dazzling pink tutu! After all, Milan, the fashion capital of the world, just needs a little more pink, and maybe, just maybe, you can be the one to spread the magic!

Remember, darling, you don't need to travel to a grand city to live life like a ballerina! It's all about bringing a little sparkle, a touch of whimsy, and a whole lot of pink to every day! I'll be posting another travel adventure next week, and remember you can always visit www.pink-tutu.com any day to join in the fun!

Until then, keep dancing!

Love, Emma x

P.P.S I might have gone a little bit wild with the pink while I was in Milan – but trust me, the photographs of my outfit will be uploaded on my Instagram page later today, so do check it out. It’s @pinktutuemma – don’t miss it!
