Pink Tutu Milan: Post 745 - A Wednesday in the City of Style 🩰🇮🇹

Ciao, darlings! It's Wednesday, the 16th of September, 2009, and your girl Emma's in Milano! It's so exciting being back in this stylish city after a quick detour back to Derbyshire for a little family time. I love Derbyshire, it’s full of lovely, green rolling hills, but Milano… it's just magic, you know? Every corner bursts with beauty, history, and style. I swear, they just have a special something in the air here that makes you want to twirl and skip all day!

Speaking of twirling, I've already got my ballet shoes packed. Just this morning, I treated myself to a new pair of pointe shoes - all blush pink, of course. What better place to break them in than Milano, right? It's no secret that this city loves a little ballet. From the Teatro alla Scala to the smaller, independent studios hidden in charming alleyways, you can practically hear the music floating in the air! And just think: the ballet culture here makes getting around so much easier - nothing quite like arriving at a rehearsal on a vintage tram with my ballet bag hanging proudly on my shoulder!

Speaking of arriving, the train ride into Milan was just lovely. The landscape was dotted with sunflowers in fields of golden yellow. So bright and beautiful, a fitting scene for a Pink Tutu post!

As you all know, this week's blog is all about my Milano adventures. And you can bet, it's packed with excitement! This Wednesday, I’m having a delicious afternoon tea at a hidden gem of a tearoom nestled in a beautiful, little square. I’ve heard it’s one of Milan’s best-kept secrets, with delicate cakes and the cutest porcelain cups. I’m picturing delicate floral designs with frills, a little bit like my Pink Tutu collection, but for teacups!

After tea, I’m going to brave the fashion district and find the most perfect, swirly, pastel-pink skirt. A skirt that dances when you walk, with layers of fabric that twirl as effortlessly as a ballerina’s pirouette. Something utterly fabulous to complement my pink tutu collection! Oh, and perhaps some cute ballet flats in the prettiest shade of blue for the evening… It’s going to be a delightful shopping spree.

By the evening, my heart will be aflutter as I’ll be enjoying a spectacular show at the Teatro alla Scala. You guys already know how much I adore the Teatro alla Scala! It’s a marvel of Italian architecture, a breathtaking cathedral dedicated to art and performance. And on top of everything, they’re performing “Swan Lake”, one of my all-time favourites! The delicate dance of the swan, the powerful music… it’s a beautiful, timeless story of love and loss, perfect for the evening. And guess who has a front-row seat for all the drama and grandeur? Yep, this girl!

You know I couldn’t resist taking in all the glamour and elegance while enjoying a plate of perfectly prepared Italian spaghetti in one of the most charming little cafes. Italian food is always divine and Milan does not disappoint! Spaghetti al pomodoro, a light and bright dish filled with bursts of fresh tomato flavour, is on the menu!

Tomorrow morning, it's time for ballet class! I love the feel of the polished wood floor in this studio; it feels like magic beneath my toes! I’m eager to test out those new pink pointe shoes - I can’t wait to glide across the studio floor and share my progress with you. My class will be full of beautiful ballerinas with elegant posture and movements; a true reflection of Milano’s elegance.

And as the day turns into evening, I'll be wandering through the enchanting gardens of the Brera District. This little corner of the city is bursting with beauty – charming buildings, secret pathways, and charming, small cafes. You know what will make these charming streets even more spectacular? My pink tutu! I can just imagine myself floating through the gardens, the sunlight dancing in my pink tutu and hair, catching the whispers of history in the breeze… I can't wait for the enchanting photos!

What else awaits this Pink Tutu adventurer? I don’t know exactly what’s around the corner but I do know I'll embrace each magical moment and share it with you, darling!

But first, let's chat about you, my beautiful pink tutu followers! What’s happening in your world? Any exciting shows to watch, any beautiful dance studios to discover, or even just a delightful cup of tea? Tell me all about it in the comments! And don’t forget to follow Pink Tutu Milan on social media so you never miss a beat of my stylish adventures! 💖💖💖

And just a little something from me before I go… What would Milano be without the most charming, elegant trams in the world? 🚃 It's not just a mode of transportation; it's a work of art, my dears, gliding through the city with grace and vintage beauty. It's all part of the magical, chic atmosphere here.

See you next Monday on www.pink-tutu.com with more Pink Tutu magic from Milan!

Love always, Emma 💖
