Pink Tutu Milan: Post #744 - Bonjour from Bella Milano!

Hello darlings! It's Emma here, back with another post from my fabulously pink adventure in Milano! Today marks Wednesday, September 9th, 2009, and I'm practically bouncing with excitement about this week's escapades!

Firstly, a HUGE shoutout to all you gorgeous readers who've been following my journey on www.pink-tutu.com. Your kind comments and love for the colour pink make every adventure even more delightful! Let me know if you're sporting a pink tutu today - I just love seeing your twirly outfits. 💖

Right, let's get on with the latest from Milan, shall we?

Milan, my darling Milan, you never cease to amaze me!

This city pulsates with a vibrant energy, a captivating mix of artistic history and fashion-forward flair. Today's adventures started with the most wonderful train journey. I simply adore travelling by train, the rhythm of the tracks and the ever-changing scenery truly relax me. From the countryside of Lombardy, we passed quaint villages, charming farmlands, and vineyards. My travel outfit, naturally, was a vibrant pink silk scarf (it's got adorable little ballet shoes printed on it!), a flowing maxi skirt, and a cute little pink tweed jacket. A touch of glam, wouldn't you say?

Arriving in Milan was like stepping into a fashion fairytale. The buildings stand proud, some ancient and magnificent, others sleek and modern, each a masterpiece in its own right. My first order of business? Why, exploring the Teatro alla Scala, of course! I mean, can you imagine a ballerina like me in Milan without a visit to the world-famous opera house? It's almost sacrilege!

The Teatro alla Scala - a breathtaking ode to the performing arts!

Walking up to the imposing facade, I felt a frisson of excitement, my heart fluttering with the anticipation of entering such an iconic venue. The theatre itself was a magnificent spectacle! I simply adore the intricate carvings, the plush red velvet seating, and the sense of history that hangs in the air. Every corner whispers tales of great performances, legends brought to life on that very stage! I closed my eyes for a moment and imagined myself performing, the applause echoing around the hall, the audience captivated by my every move... Pure bliss!

The next stop on my fashionista journey? A fabulous little boutique tucked away in a cobbled street called 'Le Ballerine Chic'. I found some stunning, utterly irresistible accessories there! It's like they designed everything specifically for a ballerina's wardrobe! I snagged a dazzling pair of silver ballet pumps, perfectly matched with a sparkly pink feather boa – for those extra special nights out, you understand! And a small, perfectly shaped, black and white checked handbag with tiny little ballet shoes sewn onto the handles. Too cute! It felt like I was buying souvenirs of dreams.

Dancing with the city - Ballet Milano style

Now, let's talk ballet. Milano is simply teeming with beautiful ballet schools! After all, where better to learn the graceful art of ballet than in the birthplace of legendary Italian ballerinas like Carla Fracci and Alessandra Ferri? It's such a privilege to witness the dedication and artistry of these young dancers. Every time I visit a studio, I'm filled with such inspiration! This week I dropped into the "Danza in Rosa" school - what a name! A perfect pink ballerina haven!

After a whirlwind of tutus and dancing dreams, it was time for an authentic Milanese dinner. Now, who knew I'd be so much of a fan of polenta! And I love risotto, although I might try to sneak in a few ballet plies during those moments between spoonfuls. Milan truly excels at both traditional Italian cooking and artistic expressions, wouldn't you agree?

Speaking of artistic expressions, did I mention that today, September 9th, 2009, is the premiere of Aida at the Teatro alla Scala? Can you believe it?! I've been saving up all my performance fees just to attend this! I must experience the drama and magnificence of this Verdi opera for myself!

As my evening ends, the gentle sound of the Milan tram accompanies me through the city's vibrant streets, filled with its gentle rhythm, taking me back to my gorgeous little pink-tutu apartment. I can already envision tomorrow, another adventure, another magical experience, another step closer to getting the whole world wearing pink tutus.

Until next Monday, stay fabulous, stay pink, and remember, "The world is your stage! Twirl your way to your dreams!"

Much love, Emma xxx
