Pink Tutu Milan - #764: A Wednesday in Rosa

Ciao, darlings!

It's Wednesday in Milan, and I'm finally feeling settled after a whirlwind journey! I swear, my tutu feels like a little adventurer alongside me as we explore the vibrant heart of Italy. The sunshine's streaming through the windows of my little apartment, turning everything a soft shade of pink, which, naturally, has me absolutely beaming!

This week's blog is all about a typical day in the life of your Pink Tutu-wearing correspondent! Let's dive in!

Breakfast with Bellini

Waking up in a new city is always exciting! The smell of fresh croissants from the local bakery wafted through my window, beckoning me to explore. The only way to start a Milanese morning is with a proper breakfast: cappuccino and brioche.

It was a lovely start to the day. I sipped on my cappuccino, soaking in the atmosphere of the charming little café. And you wouldn't believe this, but a flock of pigeons gathered on the terrace, each with its own little, tiny, tutu. It was just so adorable! Honestly, they must have read my latest blog post about spreading the Pink Tutu love. 😄

Trams and Tutudress

Of course, after a delicious breakfast, I had to explore the city! Milan is truly a fashion capital. So, naturally, my "look" had to reflect the stunning Parisian architecture. This time, I chose a shimmering pink tutu paired with a silk blouse. It flowed effortlessly with each step I took, perfectly capturing the essence of the city's elegance.

Milan's tram system is one of the best I've experienced. It's fast, efficient, and it seamlessly connects you to different parts of the city. You can't imagine how much fun it is to watch people’s expressions when I step onto the tram in my Pink Tutu! Some people giggle, some are mesmerised, others try to copy my style...It's magical. My tutudress is a conversation starter for sure!

Teatro alla Scala – A Ballet Symphony

The Teatro alla Scala in Milan is a treasure trove of artistic grandeur. Tonight, I was privileged to see an enchanting production of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, and let me tell you, it was a spectacle that I won't forget!

As the lights dimmed and the first notes of Tchaikovsky's masterpiece echoed through the hallowed halls, the magical world of Swan Lake came to life. Each pirouette, each grand jeté was a celebration of grace and power. Watching these incredible dancers in their magnificent tutus… it was enough to make even the most hardened heart melt. Honestly, every cell in my body was screaming for a chance to leap and twirl!

Shopping for Chic

No trip to Milan is complete without some serious retail therapy. As a fashion aficionado, it’s like being a child in a candy shop! Today, I indulged in a bit of window shopping at Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Milan's historic shopping arcade. With its ornate glass ceilings and luxurious boutiques, this iconic space is truly a sight to behold. And, yes, there were definitely some Pink Tutu inspirations!

After all the beautiful clothes, it was time for some yummy Italian gelato. Nothing quite beats a scoop of creamy, smooth vanilla in a charming, sun-drenched cafe, watching the world go by. It's these little moments that make travel so enriching.

Final Thoughts

And that, darlings, wraps up my Wednesday in Milan! As I type this from my apartment overlooking the bustling city, I feel so grateful to be living this adventurous, Pink Tutu life!

Milan truly captivates me. From its world-renowned fashion scene to its breathtaking art and architecture, every moment in this vibrant city feels like a fairytale. And I can’t wait to explore more of what it has to offer!
