Pink Tutu Milan #766: Ballet Bliss and Milanese Magic

Ciao bella! It's Wednesday again, which means it's time for another dose of Pink Tutu Milan, straight from the heart of Italy! I'm still buzzing from last weekend's whirlwind of ballet, fashion, and fabulous food - what a way to spend a few days in the beautiful city of Milan. This week has been full of delightful discoveries, and I just have to share them all with you.

The Pink Tutu Dream Team

First things first, a huge shout-out to my trusty travel companions: my darling pink tutu, a stack of fluffy pink ribbons, and a sprinkle of glitter - my absolute essentials for every adventure. It wouldn't be a Pink Tutu Milan trip without a splash of colour and sparkle! Oh, and of course, my comfy, travel-ready ballet shoes. Those bad boys can conquer cobblestone streets, underground platforms, and even the most crowded concert halls!

Journey by Train

This week, I decided to embrace the slow-travel life and explore Milan by train. There's something truly magical about the journey, you know? Watching the scenery rush by as the train cuts through the Italian countryside is pure bliss. Plus, it gave me a chance to do a little window-shopping, which is always a good thing!

The Theatre's Calling

Milan has been a hub of exciting theatre this week, with performances that have had me waltzing on cloud nine. On Sunday, I had the pleasure of watching a stunning interpretation of "Giselle" at Teatro alla Scala - simply breathtaking! The dancers were incredible, their movements fluid and graceful, and the set design was absolutely gorgeous. I practically felt like I was transported onto the stage myself! I even managed to snag a few sneaky pictures with a couple of the ballerinas after the show - they were absolutely lovely!

A Touch of Pink Magic

I can't tell you how delighted I was when, after the performance, a charming Italian gentleman approached me, commenting on my dazzling pink tutu! He was a big fan of ballet and expressed how much the vibrant pink added to the spectacle of the show. Of course, I had a little chat with him about the importance of spreading the pink tutu message – after all, who wouldn't look fabulous in a touch of pink? He even promised to wear a pink tie to the next opera!

Finding My Inner Fashionista

No trip to Milan is complete without a bit of serious shopping therapy, wouldn't you agree? I’m talking the whole nine yards: strutting my stuff down Via Montenapoleone, window shopping till I'm dizzy, and indulging in a spot of afternoon tea with the prettiest pink macarons I’ve ever seen. I swear, every boutique had something to make my heart flutter. My suitcase is practically overflowing with exquisite fabrics, dreamy silk scarves, and an outrageous pink feather boa – just the thing to add some Milanese sparkle to my next performance!

The Tram Track to the Next Ballet Class

Let's face it, I wouldn't be a true Pink Tutu traveller if I didn't take a spin on the iconic Milan trams! I popped over to the Conservatory of Music where I caught a glimpse of a fabulous ballet class in progress. You could almost feel the energy buzzing through the room as the dancers spun and leapt with such grace and strength. It was so inspiring that I almost joined in!

Milan: City of Dreams

This week has been an absolute dream. There's a palpable buzz in Milan that you just have to experience for yourself! The blend of history and modern art, the bustling streets and tranquil squares, and the infectious enthusiasm of the people create a symphony of magic. Add to that the amazing performances, fabulous fashion, and the delectable cuisine (a delicious risotto alla Milanese on Sunday was definitely a highlight), and you've got a recipe for pure joy.

From Derbyshire to Milan

Before I sign off, I just wanted to share a little about myself. You see, I’m a girl from Derbyshire, England. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be dancing my way around Milan, blogging about all the amazing experiences along the way. But here I am, doing it! I truly believe that dreams are within reach for everyone. All you have to do is find what makes your heart sing, set your sights on your goal, and never stop believing.

Next Week: Adventures in Venice

Stay tuned for next week's post where I'll be sharing all my pink tutu adventures in Venice! I can't wait to explore the canals, see the majestic architecture, and maybe even have a little dance on the Rialto Bridge (if it's not too crowded, of course). Until then, keep your chin up, believe in the magic, and remember… embrace the power of the pink tutu! See you all next week!

XOXO, Emma
