Pink Tutu Milan #777 - Ciao Bella!

Buongiorno, darlings! 🩰💖 It’s Emma here, back from the dreamy streets of Milan, where even the cobblestones are paved with glamour.

I must tell you, my little lovelies, this trip was a complete whirl of excitement! It felt like every single shop window held a masterpiece, every café whispered a love song, and every tram ride took me on a fantastical journey! But first, a confession, I, yours truly, am writing to you from the comfy seat of a train hurtling through the Italian countryside. You see, as a seasoned ballerina-on-the-go, you adapt. And right now, the view outside my window is so gorgeous, it's practically a ballet scene. Lush greenery dancing past, sparkling streams twirling beneath the sun, it's just picture perfect.

Speaking of picture perfect, how is my pink tutu looking? It’s been a constant companion in the stylish streets of Milan. Everywhere I’ve been, it’s gotten admiring glances and, to my immense delight, smiles of pure joy! Yes, my mission to have everyone wear pink tutus continues, one sparkling step at a time.

Right, before this train reaches my next destination, I want to share every single fabulous detail of my trip to the enchanting city of Milan!

A Dance through Time: The Theatre Alla Scala

It wouldn't be a trip to Milan without experiencing the magnificent Teatro alla Scala, a legendary house of opera and ballet. Oh, it is a beauty, and just imagining all the legends who graced its stage made my heart flutter like a ballerina's. We were fortunate to catch a show during our time there. My dear friend Annabel (a fellow tutud-clad fashionista) and I, dressed to impress of course, sat spellbound as the performance unfolded. The orchestra, the singers, the choreography - it was like witnessing a kaleidoscope of art and passion. It left me wanting more. Oh, how I longed to pirouette on that grand stage!

Shopping with a Tutu Twist

Milan, for all you shopaholics out there, is a haven. Just wander through the city, and you'll find yourself amidst endless boutiques bursting with style and imagination.

Oh, don’t worry, my tutus remained intact! However, my wallet...well, that’s a different story! 😉 This city is a siren call to fashion-lovers and my dear friends, I cannot resist a good outfit. Every shop window seems to hold something exquisite and I had to have it! Of course, I have some fantastic finds to share with you in my next blog, and my camera has captured some outfits that are definitely “Pink Tutu Milan-approved.”

But remember, my darlings, you don't have to be a high-flying fashionista to appreciate Milan's beauty. Even just a walk down Via della Spiga or browsing through the antique markets, filled with treasures from the past, makes you feel as though you are walking through a history book!

Dining Delights & Delicious Moments

Now, for my foodie friends! I discovered hidden gems, charming cafés with the most delectable pastries, trattorias offering plates piled high with regional Italian dishes, and pizzerias where every single slice is a piece of heaven! (My apologies to the vegetarians - the pizza is too divine to resist.)

Milan has a delightful energy when it comes to eating, where enjoying every single mouthful with your friends and family is the whole point! I loved the bustling energy and the atmosphere of every restaurant we frequented, it was just such a welcoming experience. It made me long to invite all my readers over for a grand ballet-themed dinner party - but that’s another blog post for another day!

My Tram Tales: From Cathedral to Galleria

Who needs a taxi or a fancy car? Not this Pink Tutu princess! For a truly local experience, hop on a tram and enjoy the view. Milan's tram system is like a mobile art gallery, with its stylish carriages offering a peek into the heart of the city.

Every journey on those bright yellow trams was a delight, especially on the line connecting the majestic Duomo to the stunning Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. That famous dome is breathtaking - like a grand ballet dancer frozen in a moment of grace, forever reaching for the heavens! I am pretty sure that's what inspired all the delicious ice cream flavours I found in Milan!

Speaking of inspiration, remember, my lovely readers, it’s time to break out those pink tutus, everyone! Whether you’re pirouetting in the park or just heading to the supermarket, embrace the sparkle, embrace the joy, embrace the love of pink. It’s a way of life. And it’s time we all made the world a bit brighter and a bit more magical!

Farewell, Milan. A Ballerina's Wish

This has been a trip I will cherish forever. The enchanting city of Milan, the elegant boutiques, the bustling cafés, the magnificent theatre...they’ve all become a part of my pink tutu fairytale.

A million kisses to you all and remember to keep your dreams close and your smiles wide,

Until next week, darling readers,

Emma xx

P.S. I’m back on the www.pink-tutu.com website every Monday. Until then, stay glamorous and stay fabulous!
