Pink Tutu Milan: Week 794 - Where the Shoe Fits!

Buongiorno, darlings! It’s Wednesday 2010-08-25, and Emma’s back with another whirl through the wonderland of Milan!

It's been a truly fabulous week here in the city of style! This city just never sleeps, does it? It’s a constant, glittering ballet of chic shops, vibrant street performers, and oh, the food! Every corner you turn, every glimpse through a doorway, it’s a scene right out of a fashion magazine.

You know I've always been a firm believer that a tutu is never out of place. It's a statement! A little burst of whimsical elegance that can take you from a ballet class to a theatre performance in a blink of an eye. And let's face it, in Milan, a pink tutu is just perfect for standing out from the crowd!

A Symphony of Colour & Style

This week I took the tram, a truly delightful experience, all the way out to Via Monte Napoleone - the shopping haven of Milan. And darling, you can’t even begin to imagine the eye candy. Luxurious boutiques lining the street, each showcasing a different facet of Italian fashion. But what truly stole my heart? The stunning shades of pink.

Think of the most delicate shade of pink - almost like a rosebud opening in the morning. And then the brightest blush - a shade that's screaming "look at me!" It's an explosion of colour, and I found myself getting swept away by the sheer joy of it all. Imagine my delight, then, to find a gorgeous fuchsia skirt, just calling to be paired with a pink tutu! It's the perfect combo, I tell you, and I already have a whole list of outings planned with my new skirt.

Of course, no visit to Milan is complete without experiencing the ballet. And this week, darling, I was lucky! The Teatro alla Scala was showing "La Traviata," and it was utterly breathtaking. The performance, the music, the costumes... It truly was a symphony for the senses. The leading lady was pure grace and elegance, with a style that made me feel like I was watching a dream come true. But what really blew me away were the colours: think deep crimson, elegant velvet, and accents of that same stunning pink that I’d been loving all week!

Parisian Echoes & Delicious Dreams

On Friday, the spirit of Paris came to Milan with the arrival of the "L'Etoile du Nord" ballet show, showcasing the exquisite beauty of Russian ballet. And let me tell you, it was utterly magnificent. The choreography, the passion, the exquisite lines and leaps – they truly mesmerized the audience. I couldn’t resist adding my own splash of colour with a tutu in the palest shade of pinkalmost an off-white with the slightest hint of blushing pink – perfect for such a refined performance!

And no trip to Milan would be complete without mentioning the food! I’m living on an espresso-fueled, pasta and gelato diet, and my heart couldn't be happier. The smells alone could make you weep!

Milan is the perfect balance between haute couture and delicious culinary delights, and it's absolutely inspiring. From the graceful street performers showing off their dance moves in Piazza Duomo to the elegant fashions I see every day, it's truly a place where fashion and art are one and the same. And let’s be honest, you know the fashion and ballet lover in me could spend weeks in this magical city, and still not be ready to go home!

But speaking of going home, darling, it’s time to pack my bags for another week of adventure. I have a performance coming up in Derbyshire on the weekend, and you know I’ll be hitting the stage with a pink tutu ready to delight my audience.

And before I sign off, darlings, don't forget to check out www.pink-tutu.com next Monday for a whole new dose of pink!

Keep shining, lovelies!

Emma x
