Pink Tutu Milan: Post 807 – Whirlwind Wednesday!

Buongiorno, darlings! 🩰

It’s Wednesday, and you know what that means? Time for another Pink Tutu Milan blog post, fresh from the fashion capital of Italy! This week’s been a total whirlwind of pink tutus, beautiful ballet performances, and even a little shopping spree. 🛍️

I landed in Milan last weekend, and already this city’s got my heart swirling with excitement! From the moment I stepped off the train at Milano Centrale, with its grand, soaring ceilings, I knew I was in for a treat.

The journey here was so much fun, too. I travelled all the way from Derbyshire on a scenic train route, sipping on my usual milky latte and admiring the countryside zipping by. (There’s nothing quite like watching the world go by from the comfort of a train carriage, and when you’re wearing a pink tutu, the views become even more magical, believe me!) 😉

This week’s Milan diary has a rather exciting twist, because it’s actually the anniversary of my very first Pink Tutu Milan post! One year ago, I stood here in the same street, wearing a vibrant fuchsia tutu, and decided to launch this little blog. Since then, the adventure has been incredible – meeting fabulous people, attending awe-inspiring ballet performances, and sharing all my love for tutus, pink and dancing with you!

As usual, I'm bursting with things to share with you, so let's dive straight in.

Tuesday's Twirl-tastic Start:

Tuesday began with a delightful little shopping trip at the Mercato di Porta Ticinese. If you're looking for quirky, vintage treasures, this is your place. I unearthed a gorgeous blush-coloured hat, perfect for my new spring outfit, and a whimsical pink-striped cardigan to match the colour scheme. Shopping really does fuel my soul! 🥰

I even found a perfect pink feather boa, because, you know, sometimes a girl needs a touch of extra sparkle. ✨ Later, I grabbed an Italian hot chocolate with a friend and chatted about our week, all while basking in the sun on a bustling piazza. It's truly one of my favorite ways to spend a Tuesday afternoon in Milan!

Wednesday's Wonderful Wednesday:

Now, let's talk about Wednesday - the day that sparked the whole Pink Tutu Milan adventure! Today was packed with ballet goodness, and my feet are still twirling with the excitement. First stop - the iconic Teatro alla Scala. This opera house, one of the world’s most prestigious, has an unparalleled history.

My dear friend, Sophia, joined me for the grand occasion. She, too, shares a passion for ballet and is just as obsessed with tutus as I am. We both slipped on our favorite pink tutus - hers a shimmering peach shade, mine a classic ballerina pink - and strutted with confidence to the performance. Sophia has the most amazing collection of tutus! 🩰 She found it at a vintage boutique a few weeks ago, and the detailing is truly exquisite. I simply cannot resist a vintage tutu - there’s something about their history that makes them feel magical. And to top it off, Sophia found a perfect little, hand-stitched matching pink hat to complete the ensemble! It's definitely giving me some outfit inspiration for next week.

A Night at the Opera:

This evening's performance was nothing short of incredible! We were treated to a sublime ballet production of Giselle, a hauntingly beautiful tale of love and betrayal set to Tchaikovsky's heart-wrenching music. 💔✨ Giselle is one of those classic ballets that makes my soul feel a little lighter. It’s such a moving story and the dancers' grace was phenomenal! The whole atmosphere was captivating - the vibrant velvet seats, the soaring gold decorations, the hush falling over the audience as the music started… My heart absolutely swooned. 🥰

Post-Performance Sparkle:

As we emerged from the Teatro, still glowing with the magic of the performance, we found ourselves drawn to the delicious aroma of freshly baked pastries. Milan never fails to offer a sweet treat to finish any evening perfectly. We decided to share a slice of Tiramisu - oh my goodness! It melted in my mouth, the perfect way to end such an unforgettable evening.

And now, onto Thursday…

I can already feel my feet itching to twirl their way to the studios. I'm joining a Ballet street dance class tomorrow, and I can’t wait to get back to the thrill of a high-energy class and channel my inner street style! 🎶

I know that everyone will love hearing about it, so I'm definitely going to be capturing lots of footage. I'm sure I'll be able to whip up a fantastic blog post to share with you next Monday - maybe a few street-inspired outfit ideas too!

A Pink Tutu Perspective

I find it so wonderful how pink tutus bring people together. Everywhere I go, I see little girls (and some older ladies, too!) with sparkling eyes and excited smiles when they catch a glimpse of my twirling tutu. The sheer joy it evokes is truly magical, and that’s something I always hope to capture in this little blog! 🩰

I believe that tutus are a symbol of happiness, creativity and individuality - values that we all hold dear. If you’ve always dreamt of wearing a pink tutu, just do it! You deserve to feel free and expressive. My personal mission in life? Well, you probably guessed it: get everyone in the world wearing a pink tutu! 💕

I love how tutus inspire people to tap into their playful side. You know, even if it's just twirling around in your living room to your favorite music! 🎶 I'm convinced that a little twirling goes a long way to brighten up your day!

And guess what, dear readers? This week marks the release of my brand-new YouTube channel, "Pink Tutu Travels". I'm going to be sharing fun video updates of all my adventures in the most wonderful pink tutu outfits, so make sure you subscribe and join me on my journeys! I've got a big surprise for all of you next month – it involves an absolutely incredible photoshoot at a stunning Italian villa, so get ready for something truly dazzling.

I hope this week's blog post has brightened up your day. ☀️ Remember to keep your dreams big, your heart open and always wear a pink tutu! 💕

Until next Monday, my loves.

Much Love, * *Emma x
