Pink Tutu Milan: #856 - A Whirlwind Wednesday in the Fashion Capital!

Ciao, darlings! It's Emma here, back from a whirlwind Wednesday in Milan! This is #856 for my weekly Pink Tutu Milan blog, where we delve into all things fabulous, and trust me, Milan never fails to deliver. I’ve been dancing up a storm and scooping up style inspiration at every turn!

I’m coming to you live from my chic little Airbnb near the Duomo. This place is literally a dream - think Parisian charm meets Italian glamour! There are ornate gold frames and silk throws draped over plush velvet furniture, all illuminated by crystal chandeliers. The view is breathtaking, especially at sunset. Honestly, I just want to live here forever.

But before we delve into all the dazzling delights, let’s chat about the journey! As always, I had to travel in style. So, I traded my usual pink tutu for a rather lovely, blush-coloured cocktail dress, topped with a bejeweled scarf for extra oomph. A touch of elegance is always a must for any fashion-forward ballerina! I found my perfect tram down a winding street – those little red beauties are just iconic. I popped my trusty ballet bag (stuffed full of tutu tulle for impromptu dance routines, obviously!) on the seat next to me and off I went, enjoying the charming Italian views on the way.

Speaking of views, I’m absolutely smitten with the city’s historic architecture! Those stunning, red-roofed buildings are practically begging to be Instagrammed! There are little winding lanes overflowing with charming shops, cafés that would make even Marie Antoinette jealous, and fountains sculpted with incredible detail – each one a piece of living art! And all topped with the most delightful smell of freshly baked bread from artisan bakeries. It's an explosion of sensory delight at every turn!

Speaking of bakeries, I simply couldn't resist the allure of a little "Dolce" stop before starting the day. I indulged in a perfectly sweet hazelnut and chocolate croissant - totally worth every delicious crumb! And yes, you guessed it! I ate it on the go, because a pink-tutu-clad ballerina is never one to waste time on sedentary activities! I even managed a couple of fouettes as I pirouetted across the cobblestones towards the Duomo.

Milan, you truly are a ballet dancer's dream! The energy here is electric, full of passion, artistic flair, and a dash of unapologetic extravagance. It’s this incredible blend of energy that makes me want to jump, twirl and pirouette down every cobblestone lane. The world’s best ballet performances always make their way here, and today, it’s the Russian Ballet doing its thing at Teatro alla Scala! Needless to say, I nabbed myself tickets to see Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake" – a total treat for this ballet-loving soul!

Now, let's dive into my shopping extravaganza! You know I simply couldn't resist a quick detour through some of the city’s high-fashion havens – it’s basically a crime for a ballet blogger to visit Milan without checking out the latest designer tutus!

I've never seen so much colour and creativity! Think feathers, glitter, silks, and yes, even pink tutus – you know how much I love pink! I even saw a dress in the most exquisite shade of blush pink that literally stopped me in my tracks. It was like a little ballet tutu made into a gown. Sigh… If only I had a bottomless pocket for all these gorgeous things! But fret not, my dears, because this pink tutu enthusiast is already plotting my return to this sartorial paradise!

And guess what? Today’s adventure is just the beginning! I've planned a little ballet exploration in the afternoon, taking a master class at one of Milan’s famed dance schools. The idea of learning a new routine in this magnificent city is practically making me do a pirouette on the spot. The chance to be surrounded by passionate dancers, breathe in that unique energy of Italy and expand my knowledge... pure perfection!

I'll be back tomorrow with another post from the magnificent city of Milan! And remember, don't forget to check out www.pink-tutu.com, for all your weekly fashion, ballet and travel inspiration!

Love always, Emma

P.S And oh my, I nearly forgot! You’ve got to see my latest Pink Tutu inspired masterpiece - a delicate pastel pink, handmade, shimmering tutu that literally made its way to my little Milanese wardrobe! The craftsmanship is incredible! Imagine soft, swirly tulle with little, pearlescent beads for a touch of understated glamour - pure magic! I’m just waiting to get my paws on the matching pair of pointe shoes before it makes its grand debut, in a secret Milanese garden with the sunset as my backdrop, of course! I'll definitely be sharing all the details soon on the Pink Tutu Instagram page. So, get ready for a serious dose of ballet-themed style inspiration.
